Shimano Bantam 100 SG Reel & Original box on a Shimano SC01553 Bait casting rod
Up for auction is a pre-owned Shimano Bantam 100 SG reel and a Shimano model SC10533 rod combo. The reel is in excellent condition and was well taken care of. Other than some very minor light scratches in the chrome this reel looks beautiful. This is all chromed out with some nice scroll work on the left sideplate and the top edge of the right sideplate. The handle has the paddle knobs for a more comfortable grip. This reel came out in the late 70's and was discontinued in the mid 80's. This reel has a gear ratio of 4.7:1 and weighs 7.7 ozs. This reel can hold from 4lb to 14lb test line. This reel spins smooth. The freespool engages and spins smooth. The line guide operates the way it was designed to. The bottom of the foot reads Shimano product of Japan FK. This reel has it's original box and will have to be shipped seperately ... morebecause it will not fit inside the tube I will be shipping the rod and reel in. The box is in very good condition with what looks to me like reel grease stain on the bottom and also some numbers were written on the bottom. The left flap when you open the lid is missing. 2- Two Vintage Shimano Bantam Reels, One-201SG & One-300
Up for auction are these two Shimano Bantam baitcasting reels. The one on the left is a Bantam 201SG, left handed reel and works great. There is a little chrome loss by the worm gear as seen in pictures, but I know reel is still in good condition. The Bantam on the right is a 300, right handed and is for parts only. Side plates, handle, and other parts are in good to excellent condition, not sure how the gears are inside, they feel ruff when turning handle. I take all my reels apart and clean them inside and outside and grease them with a lithium grease. The Bantam 300 I left as is, was not taken apart. This is a PayPal only in the United States. This reel was only cataloged in 1987 and thus is scarce. This model came with and anti-reverse switch, ball bearings and a graphite-titanium spool. It has a fast 6:1 gear ratio. The list price in 1987 was $61.00. This example is in VG+ condition. With only some wear to the decals, and a few tiny dings showing it has been used. The box is EX- condition with only very slight wear. The box contains a parts tube, oil, screwdriver, instruction sheet and warranty. This reel is used and in great condtion! it looks and fishes great. There is a small scuff on the left side of the reel that doesn't show in the photo.And on the right the handle side two scratches very light that don't show in the photo. It has the added feature of an adjustment dial that is very easy to turn and not complicated at all. It helps prevent bird nests when casting as well as the cast control knob on the right side. It can cast very easy and well when you get it dialed in just right. This 350 model holds more line and is stronger and holds more line than the 250's or the 150's. It is a right handed model. Manufactered in the 1980's I think. I have a lot of these Bantams and they are the main reels I use to fish the Pacific NW. For Salmon and Steelhead on the freshwater rivers here. They are so easy to use ... moreand so durable than some of the new reels today. The drags really are smoother to bring in these strong willed wild fish. Reliably smooth drag when playing STEELHEAD. And the ease of maintence. I installed new grag washers some time back. And have not really had the need to use it for a long time. Just for me it was a conversation piece. Not one single this wrong when fishing with this reel. And I believe it to remain that way for some time to come as well. This auction is for a very clean Shimano Bantam B-MAG 1000 Baitcasting Reel. The reel is smooth and works properly. The only minor flaw is some of the white lettering shows a little wear in spots(as seen in the pictures) There is no corrosion or pitting on the reel.It has a Shimano Magnetic Control on the left side of the reel and is made from graphite and titanium.
