Come visit us for the best Ontario Walleye Fishing! Walleye are plentiful, from good eating sizes right up to trophies over 30 inches. We are just a short distance from major Walleye spawning areas too. The population of Walleye stays high in our area all year, which makes this area very popular for Ontario Ice Fishing too. Along the shore and around the rocks and reefs are countless Smallmouth Bass that are common in the 2 to 4 pound range. Our guests catch alot of Smallmouth Bass that are 5 pounds and over with a few 6-pound Smallmouth Bass being caught occasionally. Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike are our biggest fishing attractions here, although Lake of the Woods also produces excellent fishing for Muskie (Musky), Crappie, Sauger and Perch. Our guides can show you all the fishing hot spots! Walleye are the most popular game fish though,as their mild fillets are prized for shore lunches. Northern Pike are common in the 5 to 10 pound range but Lake of the Woods does produce Northern Pike up to 30-pounds and more. They enjoy the weed beds along the extensive shoreline. Lake of the Wood’s true fame comes from the presence of Monster-Size Musky. Muskies over 50 inches are not uncommon and every year Muskie in the 50-pound range are caught & released. Lake of the Woods could easily be the lake that produces the next World Record. Our region has outstanding trophy hunting for trophy OntarioWhitetail Deer, Black Bear, Timber Wolf, Waterfowl and Grouse. Between Rainy River and Dryden is an area with the bestWhitetail Deer hunting in the world. This is the last place where fair-chase hunts for huge trophy Whitetails is available. Our Ontario Whitetail Deer are big with huge racks. Every year Whitetails are harvested in the area that score between 180 - 200 Boone & Crockett. Come join us for some great Ontario Deer Hunting. Black Bear in our area can get huge and are found in color variations such as Brown Bears and Cinnamon Bears or Blonde Bears. Our vast Black Bear management area has produced Black Bears over 700 pounds, which is just unimaginable as farther north the land cannot produce enough food for a bear to get that big. The high population of deer combined with great wolf habitat has allowed the Timber Wolf population to explode. Ontario Wolf hunting is getting more and more popular because Wolf hunting success rates have become high. We are located at the thinnest point of the Mississippi Flyway. As a result, Waterfowl are more concentrated here. Millions of Ducks and Geese have staged around our lodge before continuing their long journeywhile migrating south. Duck and Goose hunters can expect some of the best hunting they have ever had. Game trails, logging roads & other low use backwoods roads give hunters access to the surrounding forest where Ruffed Grouse and Spruce Grouse are very common.

Harris Hill Resort is right next to main snowmobiling trails, groomed trails too, that leads from the USA, to Nestor Falls, to Kenora, to different towns in Manitoba and back to the USA again. We are also nearby to "community trails" that lead into the main trails as well as neighbouring towns. Also enjoy snowmobiling on the lake and climbing rock outcroppings plus sight-seeing.
With a variety of fish species within 1 - 4 miles from Harris Hill Resort, it is an opportune area for winter ice fishing enthusiasts. These areas are quite secluded and have low pressure fishing. You won't find miles and miles of ice huts, more like 8 -10, and 3 of them belong to Harris Hill Resort for renting out to our customers, along with warm comfortable house keeping cottage to return to in the evening at our ake of the Woods Resort.
Our one fully winterized cabin (cabin #5 will sleep up to 7 people) can be rented from us, with or without renting a heated ice fishing shack. It is fully house keeping capable, has electric heat as well as LP propane heat, Satellite TV, running water, Wireless Internet, toilet and shower etc.
Ice Fishing on Lake of the Woods is a popular sport especially teamed with snowmobiling and a warm cabin to return to.
Our 10 ' X 16 ' Ice Huts are of Wood & Tin construction with 12 or 14 ice fishing holes, 16' windows on both sides, 10" holes, chairs/seats, light and a wall mounted LP propane heater in them.
With 14 ice fishing holes you can have Seven fishermen with two holes each, or up to as many people as you want ice fishing in this heated ice fishing shack.
During a "good" winter, if there is not too much snow and wind, we can maintain an ice road so that you can drive your trucks right to to the nearby fishing spots. Otherwise you have access to our fishing shacks and private fishing spots with your Snowmobile or your ATV depending on the snow conditions.

Timber Wolf we harvested while Deer hunting. Although not a large number of wolves here, Hunting Wolves has produced us two timber wolves during one Deer hunting season.

Whether Sharptail known as Prairie Chicken, Ruffed Grouse known as Partridge or Spruce Grouse these upland game birds are plentiful here in hunting season.
Although we do not offer a separate Grouse Hunting Package at this time, Grouse Hunting is often enjoyed with DUCK HUNTING, BEAR HUNTING or a fall FISHING expedition. We know where to find them and will gladly give you some grouse hunting tips, show you where to go on a map, or take you there.
You may also enjoy some fishing and GOLFING as part of your hunting holiday.

Northwestern Ontario is noted for its successful Ontario Bear Hunting experiences. The Black Bear population is estimated to be between 75,000 to 100,000 animals, one of the largest populations in North America.
The Natural Resources Biologists tell us that Black Bear migrate to our private / exclusive black bear hunting area in large numbers from other areas miles and miles away. Perhaps it’s the abundance of berries, fruit trees in the area, or acorns that fall from the many Oak trees on our property that draw the bear here. It could be the large amount of vacated land with low pressure Black bear hunting here. Whatever the reason, you can almost choose your size and color of black bear on your Ontario hunting adventure.
The Black Bear hunting opportunity is excellent at our Resort. This camp was almost exclusively a black bear hunting camp that offered "World Class Black Bear Hunts", with success rates for Black Bear harvest always being high. This exclusive Black Bear Hunting Area is known to have a large bear population, with many bear of notable size and varying colors.
We can provide "natural bear hunts" with experienced professional black bear guides, and we also provide baited bear hunting sites that ensure an excellent opportunity of success for all bear hunters.
Our strategically placed bear stands are in carefully chosen spots within a good shooting range from our baits. Our Black Bear baits are active and are producing an influx of black bear to the sites. Your bear guide will take you to find a site of preference for you and your mode of hunting. You may choose your firearm: Archery or Bow, Rifle, Muzzle Loader or Black Powder. Whatever hunting site is chosen, an excellent opportunity awaits you to successfully harvest your trophy Black Bear.

Your arrival time for your cabin is 2 PM on the first day, and departure is 9 AM on your last day.
This includes your fully equipped Lakeview Cabin, completely housekeeping capable, with Satellite TV, Air Conditioning, fire pits, BBQ's, Coffee Maker, Microwave, Toaster, Bedding, Towels etc.

You will have a Deluxe 18' Boat with a 50 hp 4-stroke motor, with depth finder/ fish locator, padded swivel seats, live wells, casting decks, life jackets/PDF's, safety equipment, landing net, docking etc. Usually 3 per boat.
You will have a tour of the property, and also a tour of Lake of the Woods up to Snake Island
You will be provided with a map of the area marked with “Fishing Hot Spots”
You may bring your GPS.
You may arrange to have an experienced Fishing Guide and/or a Shore Lunch also.
A picture may be taken for you that you can take back with you, or a picture mailed to you after professional developing.

Our Deluxe 18' boats with 40 - 50 hp 4-stroke motors will suit your every need for your vacation adventure. Feel safe, comfortable and catch fish in our deluxe rental boats. Tired of fishing, enjoy a relaxing lake tour instead. 4-stroke motors are easier on gas and better for protecting the environment.
Deluxe boats with - Swivel padded seats, floors, raised casting decks, live wells, fish finders, electric start, tilt & trim, tiller motors, front mount trolling motors, bait wells, minnow buckets, paddles/oars, safety kits including whistle or horn and throw rope and flashlight, anchors, life jackets/pdf's, landing nets - all included. Although we have children's life jackets, you may want to bring your own to ensure they fit properly.
CANOE Rental is a fun way to explore the shimmering waters of Lake of the Woods. Revel in the warmth of the sun or the wind in your face. Explore nearby islands with their sand beaches. Watch the Loons and Pelicans dip in the lake, or the beavers and otters swimming to shore as you leisurely paddle your way along on your new outdoor adventure. Too much else you want to do? You have the choice, pick a weekly, daily, half day, or hourly rental. Life Jackets or PDFs, paddles and safety kits are included that has a throw rope, whistle or horn, bailing bucket and flashlight. Canoe Rental is FREE for those guests staying at Harris Hill Resort - based on availability.
Boat Launch or Lake Access is available year round from Harris Hill Resort. We can accommodate the largest boats here easily on our cement launching boat ramp. Although the launch is included with your cabin rental or weekly RV rental, others that have houses or cabins in the area may also launch a boat here to go to their cabins or enjoy a day of fishing and leave their vehicles parked at the resort for a mominal boat ramp fee.
Docking and Parking is included with your Cabin rental and monthly or seasonal campground /RV rental also. HHR has main boat docks plus we also have boat slips and a harbour. If you're not staying here, you may still launch and park here when you are going fishing, going for a joy ride, experiencing a lake tour or going out to your private cabins.

RV sites are all treed for privacy yet close enough for you to visit each other: Close to the boat docks and boat launch too. Each site has full hook-up options of sewer, water and electricity. Fire pits and picnic tables are provided for each site.
For the camper who loves to fish, enjoy the excellent fishing and numerous freshwater species on Lake of the Woods Ontario. Fish for Walleye(Pickeral), Northern Pike (Jackfish), Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Crappie (Panfish) or Muskie (Musky, Muskelunge).
Boat and motor rentals are available, as well as fishing guides, fishing licenses and bait. We have live minnows all year long, plus worms (night crawlers) and leeches in the summer. Please check under "Boats & Marina" for boat and canoe rental pricing. Canoe use is FREE for our cabin rental guests; may be available to RV or Camping guests based on availability.
