Gordon Swenatron is an obscure fish decoy carver whose decoys are excellent. Original works of art with outstanding folk art qualities and decorator appeal. They are hand made and hand painted and exhibit wonderful personality and visual appeal. This outstanding and larger sized Swenarton Muskie measures a very nice 9 3/4" long. It has carved gill markings and red glass eyes. The decoy is painted in really folky and muted shades of green and yellow with accents in white and pink. Mike Ott is a very obscure fish decoy carver from Northern Minnesota. His work is included in the collector's reference book FISH DECOY MAKERS PAST AND PRESENT and are seldom seen on ebay. This decoy is part of a nice little collection that just came in. It represents a trout and is painted in a very unusual folk art style. This is an early example of Mike's work before he went toward the ultra realistic style and has to be very unusual. It measures 6 1/2" long and has carve gill and mouth features. It is completely hand made and hand painted in the old schiool tradition. The condition is original and lightly fished with light wear and signs of age. The maker has signed the decoy by carving MO into the belly. It also has 2" carved next to the MO but I am not sure what this may mean. VINTAGE FISHING SPEARING DECOY FRANK MIZERA, ELY, MN
Hello. Up for consideration is an old working- silver. Black and white pike made by Frank Mizera(1898-1969) who was from Ely, MN. As you can see from the photos, it has lots of wear and a damaged/missing tail. It has seen many days in the dark house. The side fins are all original. And it has the white fish-on-fish designs on the top of the fish and along the sides. It has a single tie line, carved(or tack) eyes, and signature sloped-nose. It is very dirty, but I didn't want to clean it, i'll leave it up to it's new owner. The decoy has flaws as the pictures show, but here's a chance to get a Frank Mizera at a reduced cost. Hello. Here are three working decoys by Michigan carver Jed Blain. There are three total. These are not fancy decoys, they are working decoys made for decoying fish. 16" Pike shape. This is an example of Jed's crazy use of CD's and whatever is around to make an attractive fish. 10" You be the Judge? Gold color with glitter. Glass eyes, and a Swiss Swing on the tail. 8" Burbot shape. But painted silver with yellow/red spots. I think this is an older one. These are all from Jed's personal stable of decoys.

5 Vintage or Antique Spear Spearing Ice Frog Fishing Decoy U.S. Line Company MA
Here is something unusual. Five old frog or fish spearing heads. One in particular is of interest here. It has the label mark for U.S Line Company Westfield. Mass with an eagle logo, and U.S.L. Brand. I believe this is very rare, I could not find any others like it in past or current listings on this site, I did find some catalogs from this company from the early 1950's. The item is like new, five tines, and measures about 3" x 7' x 1" There is also another one that looks like it is made from brass, or copper, it measures 4" x 9 1/4' x 1 1/8" It is marked, made in ND. Then there is one that is green, heavy steel, with an open tang, it measures 5" x 10 1/4' x 1 1/8" no markings which I can see. Number four is the bigger blue spear head 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 1 1/4" no markings. The last ... moreone is the smaller blue spear head 4 1/2" x 8' x 1" it has the initials PL engraved on to it. VINTAGE ICE FISHING/SPEARING RED/WHITE MUSKY DECOY APPEARS TO HAVE GLASS EYES. 4 ALUMINUM SIDE FINS AND ALSO HAS GREAT PAINTING DETAIL.USED, BUT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. COULD USE A LITTLE CLEANING, IF DESIRED. IN THE SHAPE OF A SMALL MUSKY. IT IS 10" LONG, 2 1/2" WIDE FROM FIN TO FIN. HAS A HOLE WHICH GOES ALL THE WAY THROUGH NEAR THE TAIL FOR ATTACHING A SINGLE OR TREBLE HOOK ASSEMBLY IN CASE FISH STRIKES DECOY. METAL FINS ATTACHED TO BODY WITH SMALL METAL SCREWS. TOP RING NEAR HEAD ATTACHES TO JIG LINE. TAIL SLIGHTLY BENT FOR ACTION IN WATER. AIR HOLE UNDER HEAD FOR BALANCE. MADE OF PLASTIC OR A COMPOSITE MATERIAL. NO MANUFACTURE ID, BUT WAS TOLD IT COULD BE MADE IN CANADA IN THE 1960'S-70'S GREAT COLLECTOR'S ITEM AND STILL VERY USABLE! WEIGHTED, WEIGHS 10 OZS.

We do not remember where and how much per piece or the history behind them. Duluth Fish Decoy- Dave Perkins.Folk Art BEAVER Ice Fishing/Spearing Decoy. Excellent condition. Good paint, glass eyes.
