FOLK ART ICE FISHING DECOY "Blotched Perch" by Artisan Jim Scheibner
This decoy wood came from a cabin on Torch Lake. Michigan, that the interior was old Knotty Cedar. The body is kind of blochy-so I called it the"13" BLOTCHED PERCH"he is stamped on the lead that was poured for sinkability-JCAS-08 and signed by Jim Scheibner-maker. 13" long x 6" high x 1" wide. Can be used for ice fishing, collecting or decorating. Used acrylics paint and sealed with urethane varnish.

ICE FISHING DECOY FOLK ART "Orange Fin" by Folk Artisan Jim Scheibner
Orange Fin was made from Knotty Cedar out of a cabin on Torch Lake. Michigan. It is signed by Jim Scheibner and on the lead that was poured is JCAS LCo. dtd 2006. This decoy could be used to ice fish with or hung on a wall for decoration by the hook that is on the top fin. Size of Orange Fin is 9" long x 7" high x 1" thick at the wood. Fins on side stick out 1-1/2" Decoys are used by fisherman as my little diagram shows and have become very collectable as Folk Art or Antiques.

This frog was inspired by a visit to Mackinaw Island in Northern Michigan. One of my favorite places to visit. He is 8" long x 7" wide across his toes and 2" high. Has much lead poured in him for sinkability- is signed and stamped on the lead JCAS-06. Can be used for ice fishing, collecting or decoration. Weighs 16oz. Painted with acrylics and sealed with Urethane Varnish. 2 of these were made the other is Orange. Mack I and Mack II only.

FOLK ART PRIMATIVE FISH DECOY by Folk Artisan Jim Scheibner
Name of this Decoy is OAK FROG- the wood came from the crouch of an old Oak tree that needed to be cut down for damage control. This decoy is 8" long x 5" accross the Y in the legs and from 1" Dia at legs to 1-3/4" from the end of legs to where it joins the the legs and extends out to the mouth on head. It was made at Torch Lake. Michigan in 2005-it has lead in the belly for sinkability and is stamped the lead JCAS-05 and is signed by Jim Scheibner on the bottom. The primative Oak wood is allowed to show a contrast beteen the wood and the paint. It ways not quite 1 lb. and can be used for collecting- decoration or ice fishing. This Decoy can be fished, collected or used for decoration.

FOLK ART ICE FISHING TURTLE-by Folk Artisan Jim Scheibner "TORTOISE" of Florida
Simply called this Florida"TORTOISE" as they are all over the state and we visited a state sponsored wild life center and they have patterns for the kids to copy all the parts and glue them together to make a turtle. So I did just that and this Tortoise is a little different in that it can be used for Ice Fishing. Collecting and Decorating. It does have poured lead in the belly for sink ability and is stamped on the lead, JCAS-06 and signed by me. Mr. tortoise is 8-1/2" long x 8" wide x 3/4" thick. Head, legs, tail are all made of sheet metal, body of knotty cedar and belly was poured lead for sink ability. Weighs almost l lb.
