With Heavy Duty Brass line guides that are made to last 100 years or more! Beautiful Collectible item! Still has the old original line when used for ice fishing years ago. Some minor surface rust on bottom of springs but easily cleanable if desired! Great touch as a collectible too! 2 Vintage Frabil Classic High Performace Hardwood Wooden Ice Fishing Tip-Ups
You are bidding on a pair of Vintage Frabil Classic High Performance Hardwood Tip-Ups. These tip up are in great working condition with minor wear. The tip-up with the line on it has some minor tarnish on the main shaft. The tip-up without line has a 1" blue/green colored mark on it. I didn't try scrubbing it off. So I wouldn't damage the finish. The wing nut on the side is broken, it still works, I just didn't have one to replace it. Here are 2 vintage drab green colored Beaver Dam tip ups from the early 1960's. These are from when Beaver Dam switched over from the brass name tags to the 1st sticker tags that still had the patent# on them. Tip ups with theses particular stickers are very rare so they are very sought after by collectors. This auction is for 1 tip up with the patent# and the other tip up has the sticker without the patent# You will be able to see the difference in pictures 2 and 3. Both tip ups are in great condition for their age with minimal paint loss in a few spots on the sides. Both are in working condition but need cleaned. Ther are small amounts of rust but nothing serious. The 25 th. anniversary model's flag is dirty and somewhat frayed and has a name carved on the bottom. Both are in used condition. They will need new line. TEN very old wooden ice fishing"TIP UPS" I really do not know how these work-I was told they are called"TIP UPS" for ice fishing. ~ NICE& OLD ~ 5 are what looks like lacquered vintage"OAK" wood measuring each about 24" long x 1 7/8" wide x about 3/8" thick. String still wrapped on the wood and they each have vey old tattered and torn black fabric flags. There is a piece of inlaid copper wire on each board. One of the tip ups the spring guide instead of being a solid circle was cut open by a fisherman to make it easier to put the line and hook through. I have seen this done on several Beaver Dam tip ups that I had. I do believe that you can apply a little heat to this cut circle and it will close up. One spring on one of the tip ups has a little light rust and the spring has some separation in it but it still functions-see photos. These springs actually should be turned periodically to keep the spring from separating. Lot of 2 Wood Wooden Reel Antique Vintage Ice Fishing Tip Ups or Traps
This is a set of very nice old ice fishing rods or traps tip ups(not sure what they're called) that measures 24" long. Each has a wooden reel that moves freely and has line and a little ring that hooks on the trigger of the trap. Each also has a piece of flexible metal with a little red"flag" on the end that slides out and bends onto another piece. Setting the trap. When a fish gets hooked, it causes the pole with the flag to go up, telling the fisherman a fish is on. Everything is in good condition for the age. Discoloration, staining, one of the tip ups is missing a wooden cross pieces, tarnishing to the brass reels, and there is minor surface rust found to the hardware; most of the strings on the reels are missing or should be replaced. Up for bid is 9 wooden fishing tips purchased from Estate Auction in Sturgeon Bay. Vintage 3 Wooden Handmade/Homemade Ice Fishing Tip Ups From Macedon, NY USA
Vintage 3 wooden home made ice fishing tip ups with Dacron line split shots and hooks. These 3 homemade tip ups have a stamp with Macedon NY USA on one of them. The tip up is a wood rod 12" long with a 1" metal tip that the line wraps around then down the hole. When a fish strikes the line slides off the tip and pops the tip up off and the red tip then is up to alert you to the fish on! There is a tension wing nut on the reel of which two are metal one is plastic. A slot in the rod allows you to adjust the rod on the base for proper settings. Held in place by a bent nail of which there are 2 and 1 newer straight nail. A black fin on the back allows for the wind. A small piece of wood is attached to the bottom to allow the tip up to sit across the hole and the wood can swivel around. The blue base is 8" long by 3" wide ... moreby 3 1/2" tall.
