Nice older fillet knife and leather sheath in excellent used condition for its age. Measures 10 1/2" overall with a 6" blade. It it very sharp. The handle and sheath both have a burn mark with RN scratched in. The handle has some very minor varnish loss. The sheath has a device inside that helps sharpen the blade when inserted and withdrawn. This was found at an estate sale- the gent was quite the sportsman! We don't know its age. But it looks like it's never, ever been used. This is a fillet knife- great for fishing, but with other uses as well. In its original leather sheath with a fish with(r) and Maker's name, plus Finland. The name is repeated, etched onto the knife- J. Marttiini- Hand Ground Stainless. It is approx. 12-1/8" from end to end. We could not get a good photo of the name on the blade, it was too shiny. This knife is used, but it has been well maintained. The wooden handle is in great shape with no chips or cracks. The hollow ground blade is straight. But it does show signs of sharpening. The knife slides easily into the sheath. The sheath is in good shape with no significant staining or water damage. There is a cut in the sheath where the knife was pushed through. After a light cleaning. I applied a light coat of oil to help rejuvenate and protect the handle. I have done my best to show the condition of this item. The other side of the blade is blank. It says- Rapala on the handle and the leather sheath with the trademark. There is also a letter M with a circle around it above the Rapala on the sheath. The knife may need a good cleaning. There are scratches on the blade where it has been sharpened. The handle is in good shape. There is some slight discoloration on the end. The sheath is in good shape with minor scuffs. The belt loop is attached. The knife locks in securely into the sheath.

Vintage Fish Fillet Knife Beautiful Old Rapala J. Marttiini Stainless Blade
This is a really nice old Rapala. The leather is not rotting or about to and the strap is intact. It looks like it was oiled all the time. The blade itself is very good. It's sharp and tight. This one has the brass retainer at the handle end. The blade has the Marttini signature and is clear with no deep scratches. The two together have been well cared for. Vintage Rapala Fish Fillet Knife Engraved J Marttiini Finland w/ Original Sheath
This vintage Rapala fish fillet knife is in fair condition. As it has been used. There is a very small crack at the base of the knife handle. But it does not impair use. Just note worthy. There is also a small gouge near the top of the handle. Again. Just note worthy for an accurate description. The blade is engraved. As it should be. The blade also has symmetrical light wear marks. The leather sheath has heavy wear and cracking on the belt loop. As well as on the fishtail at the bottom. The metal triangle Clamp and grommet have rust. The rest of the leather sheath has wear and dirt. Which are signs of typical use and age, not abuse. Please let the photos speak for the condition of this item. Thank you. And happy bidding!

No Reserve Up for auction- hardly used. still has original engraving on both blades SET of 2 blades one 6" and one 4" in beautiful hardly used condition. At least 35 yrs old( i remember my dad using these when i was about 10yrs old. i'm 46 now. still has original engraving on both blades. sheaths are bright and almost look new. there's a little"goo" on the small knife( see last pic) which can probably be cleaned off. nice set to add to your collection or use regularly.
