Nice older fillet knife and leather sheath in excellent used condition for its age. Measures 10 1/2" overall with a 6" blade. It it very sharp. The handle and sheath both have a burn mark with RN scratched in. The handle has some very minor varnish loss. The sheath has a device inside that helps sharpen the blade when inserted and withdrawn. I AM NOT A FISHERMAN BUT ON RESEARCHING THIS KNIFE IT IS SUPPOSE TO A GREAT KNIFE PER ALL REPORTS ON GOOGLE. IT HAS A 6" BLADE THEN A BRASS BAND AND ATTACHES TO A WOODEN CARVED HANDLE WITH A BRASS KNOB. THE HANDLE NEEDS SOME POLISHING WITH MAYBE A WAX. THE SHEATH IS IN FINE CONDITION WITH A BELT SNAP HOOK. A PLASTIC INSERT TO PUT THE KNIFE INTO AND NOT RUIN THE LEATHER SHEATH. IT HAS DECORATION AND STATES RAPALA, J. MARTTIINI, FINLAND AND MEASURES 9 3/4" LONG. THE KNIFE MEASURES 10 3/4" LONG. ON THE BLADE IT IS ENGRAVED"J. MARTTIINI FINLAND HAND GROUND STAINLESS. IT IS VERY VERY SHARP AND POINTED. IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT ANY FISHERMAN WOULD BE PROUD TO HAVE THIS ITEM HANGING FROM HIS BELT.

Vintage Rapala Fish Fillet Knife Engraved J Marttiini Finland w/ Original Sheath
This vintage Rapala fish fillet knife is in fair condition. As it has been used. There is a very small crack at the base of the knife handle. But it does not impair use. Just note worthy. There is also a small gouge near the top of the handle. Again. Just note worthy for an accurate description. The blade is engraved. As it should be. The blade also has symmetrical light wear marks. The leather sheath has heavy wear and cracking on the belt loop. As well as on the fishtail at the bottom. The metal triangle Clamp and grommet have rust. The rest of the leather sheath has wear and dirt. Which are signs of typical use and age, not abuse. Please let the photos speak for the condition of this item. Thank you. And happy bidding!
