Marsh Bay Resort is a quiet family style camp nestled on the shores of the Montreal River, just off Highway #11. Open year round, our services include cottages, camping and trailer sites, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. The Montreal River is a calm body of water teeming with fish and great for swimming.

A Perfect Location 

Our camp is in a peaceful rural setting, a short drive from all amenities. Grocery stores, department stores and a mall can be found in Temiskaming Shores, only 15 minutes north. Liquor stores and a wide range of dining options are also close.  There are mining and heritage museums in the area. Churches of almost every denomination are found within a few minutes' drive.

The black bear hunting season opens mid-August and closes the end of October. Marsh Bay Resort is responsible for a 200 square kilometre bear management area. We'll be setting up game ... morecams at 3 of the baits and will post video captured on the News page. Bear baiting will commence a minimum of 6 weeks prior to a confirmed bear hunt.

The cost of the hunt does not include the mandatory Ontario bear hunting license and tag. A non-resident bear hunting license and tag must be obtained from a Service Ontario counter or local Wal-Mart. There is a Service Ontario counter located conveniently in New Liskeard, 15-20 minutes north of the resort.

American Plan bear hunting packages are available and will be custom tailored to your needs. Pricing for American Plan packages will be provided on an individual basis depending on number of meals requested and size of the hunting party.

The river depths vary from 5 to 70 feet, providing a good variety of structure and habitat for the many fish. You can expect to catch more than enough fish for shore lunch and dinner. There is the occasional trophy-sized fish to be found in the Montreal River, but guests are encouraged to return these to the river and only keep the fish that will fit easily into the frying pan.

You can bring your own boat to tie up at one of our three dock locations. Alternatively you can let us know and we'll have a boat and motor ready for you to rent on a daily or weekly basis.

All our cottages are non-smoking. Cottages 1, 4, 5, 6 & 7 are pet friendly. Pets are not permitted in Cottages 2, or 3. The cottages have fully equipped kitchens, 3 piece baths, ... moreliving room areas, screen porches, BBQ's and picnic tables. Pillows, comforters and blankets are provided for each bed. Guests are to bring their own sheets and towels or request that linen be provided at an additional nominal fee. Additional guests beyond the cottage capacity will be charged.

Plan ahead and you can arrange to arrive in time for a hot meal served in the Guest Recreation Room. Drop-ins are also very welcome pending cottage availability - reservations are recommended.

Our location is quiet and secure for your snowmobiles and equipment.

PACKAGE 1: This package includes accommodation in our housekeeping cottages. A discount will be applied if you are staying for more than one night. Reservations are recommended but not required.

PACKAGE 2: This package includes a hot supper, accommodation in our housekeeping cottage and a full breakfast in the morning. 24 hour notice must be given to take advantage of this offer.

We offer premier camping on the shores of the Montreal River. Our resort, containing grass areas, trees and water access, provides the optimum environment for emotional well-being ... more- according to Professor E.O. Wilson's "Biophilia Hypothesis" . But we invite you to park an RV at our resort and test the hypothesis yourself.

Our RV sites are rented on a nightly, weekly, monthly and seasonal basis. RV sites G & N6 and Camping site Z will continue to available on a nightly or weekly basis. Check our Location page to determine the location of these sites. Reservations are strongly recommended if you want to guarantee that an RV or camping site will be available when you arrive.

Our RV sites provide power, water and sewer hook-ups. The power is a mix of 20 amp and 30 amp service. Power is available at both camping sites and water hook-up is also an option at Site Y. There are shower and washroom facilities available within easy access of all the RV and camping sites.

Seasonal rental includes storage of your RV at the resort during the winter months.

Our community of seasonal RV'ers gather regularly for pot-luck dinners, fish fry's, Texas horseshoe tournaments. Once you are part of the seasonal community we'll make sure you are kept up with all the happenings.
