ANTIQUE OAK WALL PHONE! This is NOT a reproduction*Sorry. To due weight& size, there is no International shipping offered on this item* I do not know with any certainty the age of this phone. Im guessing the 1920's or 30's. I have no idea who the maker is as I have never been able to find any identifying marks on it. If someone knows? Please message me and I'll be happy to add the information to the description. I purchased this phone for my Mother in the early 1970's as a display and reminiscent piece to remind her of her childhood home. The inner components are original(I've been told) and before the digital age, she was told it could easily be converted to a house phone for daily use. While the idea appealed to my mother, she never wanted to fool with the original insides so she never did. It hung on the wall near ... moreher country kitchen for many years, when the interior of her home was re-painted, it never made it back on the wall and its been safely stored ever since. The schematics for the wiring are on the inside as well as the last dates the phone was checked(Note 1969 and 1972) I tried to take good enough photos that someone could see the actual interior workings/wiring. CONDITION: The phone measures approx: 22 1/2" tall by approx: 9" wide and approx. 5 1/2" deep. I believe the case to be solid oak. The case is in excellent condition for vintage age& use. Slight scuffs here and there perhaps but really nothing major. The receiver/ear piece cord is beginning to wear at the top(see photos) but that's really all I can find wrong with it. I am not a collector nor do I know a lot about these antique phones but Ive tried to accurately describe what your looking at to the best of my abilities. Descriptions are as follows: 3 identical 15" holders for shade with 14" fitter; inner diameter of fitter ring is 3-1/8" and lift is 3/4" one of the fitter rings is brass. 15" holder for shade with 14" fitter; inner diameter of fitter ring is 3-1/8" and lift is 1-1/4" brass-plated. c1675 ~ stunning copper"crotal" horse bell. Still contains the original lead"pea" clanger. These often corrode or become stuck to the side of the bells but this moves freely and the crotal bell still rings even after more than 400 years! Measures 32mm tall. Normally metal detectors who find these bells rarely clean them as collectors frequently want them in an"as found" condition and the bells on offer are typically very dirty. This particular example has been painstakingly cleaned of all the surface grime that would have been present when dug up and then carefully polished to reveal the original truly superb shiney copper appearance with great detail. The f oundry mark"L" is clear( representing a London maker) Brief history: Crotal bells were made over many centuries in England. Early finds go back ... moreto the beginning of the 13th century. Initially. They were used by jesters,travelling entertainers& by pilgrims. They then became a fashion accessory& have been found on necklaces. Their use was extended to horses(and other animals) to give an advance audible warning& by hawkers in markets to attract attention to their wares. Crotal bells can be dated reasonably accurately to particular eras. Early bells were made of tin and in 2 pieces which were then moulded together. Later bells had a single copper body and the lead pellet(pea" was contained in the sand core of the moulding process. Bells made in this way are readily identifiable by the 2 upper sound holes. The holes were actually to facilitate positioning of the core rather than transmission of sound. Also. The suspension loop on early 1-piece bells were cast as an integral solid lug and drilled afterwards. From the late 17th century foundry makers put their initials on the bells and in the 18th century loops became proportionately larger and had a more angular appearance. c1750 ~ excellent Copper "crotal" horse bell ~ with inner "pea" & still rings !
c1750 ~ excellent copper"crotal" horse bell. Still contains the original lead"pea" clanger. These often corrode or become stuck to the side of the bells but this moves one freely and the crotal bell still rings even after nearly 300 years! Measures 38mm tall. Uncleaned condition. Brief history: Crotal bells were made over many centuries in England. Early finds go back to the beginning of the 13th century. Initially. They were used by jesters,travelling entertainers& by pilgrims. They then became a fashion accessory& have been found on necklaces. Their use was extended to horses(and other animals) to give an advance audible warning& by hawkers in markets to attract attention to their wares. Crotal bells can be dated reasonably accurately to particular eras. Early bells were made of tin and in 2 pieces which ... morewere then moulded together. Later bells had a single copper body and the lead pellet(pea" was contained in the sand core of the moulding process. Bells made in this way are readily identifiable by the 2 upper sound holes. The holes were actually to facilitate positioning of the core rather than transmission of sound. Also. The suspension loop on early 1-piece bells were cast as an integral solid lug and drilled afterwards. From the late 17th century foundry makers put their initials on the bells and in the 18th century the loops became proportionately larger and had a more angular appearance. These points taken together show this bell is c1750. Detecting find Kent. Good complete specimen and still rings.

SR Sakae XCM 3040 Crankset 28 38 48 w/ Ovaltech/Biopace type inner& middle rings
This crankset is in good condition. Snap on dust covers are included. This is the first time I've seen something quite like this. The outer ring- 48 teeth- appears to be a normal circular ring. The inner and middle rings(38 and 28 teeth) are oval in shape. The middle ring has Sakae 350" stamped on it. Looking around. I found some others with that marking that were part of their Ovaltech offering, something that from what I saw they put out in response to Shimano's Biopace. This is an interesting concept. I found Sheldon Brown's explanation of the benefits of the Biopace oval. Which this somewhat copies. The mountain biker particularly benefits. Because the Biopace design somewhat smooths out the delivery of power to the rear wheel. In climbing on loose surfaces, the limiting factor is often traction. The rear wheel tends ... moreto break loose during the maximum power phase of the pedal stroke. Wasting most of the cyclist's energy. The Biopace chainwheel works like a storage device, storing power during the main power phase of the stroke as the feet accelerate, then delivering the stored power to the rear wheel during the"dead center" phase when the cranks are nearly vertical. The same average amount of power is delivered to the rear wheel, but in a smoother, less pulsating flow. The bicycle moves at a more even speed. He later mentions that some would use a normal large chainring and use the elliptical or oval rings for the inner rings to optimize climbing. I do provide a 14 day return policy. No questions asked. Vintage Fiesta #5 Cobalt Blue Mixing Bowl Old with Inner Rings
Here's a Nice Vintage Fiesta Cobalt Blue#5 Mixing Bowl. The bowl is in Very Good Condition; there are the normal utensil marks here and there with only one I would find worthy of mention. At the very bottom inside(see picture 5, it is the vertical line above the rings at the very center of the picture) At the foot edge is a small factory glaze miss(picture 4 at the very center of the picture) And a few light scuffs and so forth again typical for a piece made in the 1940s. The bowl measures about 5 and 5/8" tall and 8 and 11/16" in diameter.
