I'm a tennis pro and college tennis coach in the Chicago area and I am selling this"like new" Head Prestige MP. I'm sponsored by Head and thought I could handle this stick but I realize that as I get older. It's tougher to wield a 12oz(ish) racquet. I only hit with this racquet 2X. There is no visible wear except a slight nick on the headguard. I used an overgrip so the basegrip is still brand new and tacky(no marks whatsoever) Please feel free to ask questions if you might have any. Mullein Pith, fishing float, lure craft, primitive fire - pics
Pith from Great Mullein/ Common Mullein(Verbascum Thapsus) Freshly collected Nov 6. 2012. Pith is similar to cork- very light. Indeed. These 6 pieces of pith together weigh 1.2 ounces. Shipping weight is 6 ounces or less. Mullein pith is similar to Elder( elderberry) pith. Which is a well known material for crafting fishing floats and lures, etc. especially in Europe and UK. Do a google search of elder pith float then click the images tab. You will be surprised! Also used for bushcraft skills in primitive fire making as a quick fire tinder and wick. The auction is for 6 lengths of pith. The bark has been removed. Below is a photo showing the pith within a length of stalk. You should note that the pith is not perfectly round. It therefore is not perfectly round when the bark has been removed. The shaft is cut to shorter. Manageable lengths. ... moreThe bark is removed in strips. With the bark removed the pith appears rough because the pith surface is shaped exactly like the under-surface of the removed bark. I did not process the pith further leaving that to the person choosing to work the pith into a desired shape. The surface of these pith pieces still has a very thin layer of sub-bark material which is very easy to remove. That type of work is best left to the person who wishes to work the pith into a avon float or some popping bug. Lure, etc. Here is the pith with a cattail stem hand twisted/drilled through then some knife carving and then a bit of sandpaper to get the rough shape tapered. All it needs is a deft hand. Proper quill material and some experience, paint and varnish to make fishing floats. I have access for more should that be a request.

This is a Vintage 1967 Pflueger Trump No. 486 Glass Saltwater Rod. It is 6 foot in length and has 3 stainless steel guides and stainless steel tip top. The guides are good and have a little saltwater rash. And the wrapping of the guides is in perfect condition. It has a very nice wooden butt which is also perfect. It also has a cork fore grip which is also perfect and doesnt even look used. The reel seat is stainless steel and very slight wear, but almost perfect. This rod is in very nice vintage condition and a very rare find at an estate sale in the florida keys last week. I got the age of the rod of 1967 from the shakespeare/pflueger website when you look up the rod no. 486. Please see all photos and email with any questions. Good Luck!

The black one is new and 5 inches long, inside diameter is 3/4 inch and made of aluminum, the other is a Varmac NF2 chrome plated brass reel seat and is 5 inches long and inside diameter is 3/4 inch there is minor cork residue inside and no corrosion, there are two chrome plated brass rod but gimbals and half a big game rod ferrule all with almost no corrosion. Description" These were competently removed from a Action-Rod fishing pole. As the pics should depict. It's all in very good shape. I do not see any scratches or chips or dents in any of the parts here. Age has discolored the plastic to a nice dull ivory like glow. There appears to be some minimal but mild imperfection in the red area of one of the rings if one looks closely at the pictures.
