American Tackle Guide Placement Chart Rodbuilding
American Tackle Guide Spacing Chart. This chart is used to locate concept and micro style guides in the correct position on any style rod blank with any type of action. The rod tip is bent to a 90% angle from the but of the blank and the curve of the blank is matched up to the different curves on the chart. You can then mark the different guide lines onto the blank with a marker. This works very well! This chart came with a length of string with a small metal hook on the end to load and hold the blank in a 90% position. I no longer have this but you can easily make one. Item Description- Offering up for auction today we have a ANTIQUE"ACW" American Eagle FISHING TROLLEY. Measures 3.25" x 3.25" made of a lead with three brass wheels. Eagle bears a shield to his breast with"ACW" inscribed. Reverse shield is marked with a roman numeral VII. It weighs just over 9 oz. Unusual size; most trolleys had two wheels and weighed 3-4 ounces. Trolley fishing involved attaching a sturdy 6-ft. pole to a dock or pier with an attached anchor line(thrown out with a spider anchor to the end) and a trolley line which held several tied-on baited hooks. The weighted trolley rolled the fishing line down the anchor line and an alert"fish on" bell signaled one or more fish taking the bait(see illustration) This method of fishing was popular in the early-to-mid 20th century.
