Hi! For sale we offer this primitive. Antique bamboo fishing rod. This is a 6 foot model that is made of two pieces connected by a metal sleeve. 6 sided bamboo construction. Metal reel attachment. Bottom handle is turned wood with wood end finial(similar to the way Horrocks rods were made) This rod has one odd quality. The eyes are on the top and bottom of it. Please see photos. I have been fishing most of my life and have never had a rod like this one. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life. The letter N is carved just above the finial end. This is most likely a hand made labor of love. Not a mass produced item. 6ft. 2 pc. Please understand. This is a v ery old rod. It has been enjoyed and enjoyed. It is primitive in condition and in my opinion looks great. It has rubs and bumps and oxidized metal. One of the areas of wrap is missing(about ... more1 inch long. The end has a hole, but it's not too big. The case also has a paper label sewn on it- see pictures. Patented feature of Heddon's. There is a cardboard tube that will slide into the case and there's a cork plug at the end. The handle is a Heddon Pal. The cork has been slightly cleaned and waxed— so it displays well. The handle measures 11.5 inches. The handle's cork doesn't show any hook marks. This Heddon Pal. Lot of fishing lures sinkers swivels hooks leaders rod eyes/guides
Here is a lot of fishing lures. Rod eyes/guides, sinkers, hooks, swivels, three way swivels, leaders, and other things. The lures are all soft plastic fishing lures. The red grub is probably ruined. It has a cut in the bottom of it, and the back part of the tail has been broke off. The jig head is probably good, it has some paint chipped off of it, and the hook is a little rusted and dirty. Use the picture to see. The two twintail lures may have had a hook in them, I am not sure. There are 2 minnow imitation lures. They are both roughly 3 1/2 inches long. The hook in the tan colored one is rusty. The darker colored one that doesn't have a hook says riptide on the side of it. There are 5 random rod guides/eyes. They are random brands. One of them says ALLAN on the side. That is the only one I saw that was marked. There are a few leaders ... morein this lot. They are dirty and might have some rust on them. There is one that is extremely dirty. The ones in the package have had something spilt on them and some other things like that. There are some sinkers in this lot also. Some are in rough shape, and some are in better shape. All of them are dirty and have been used. The two to the far right in the picture are in very bad shape. One is very beat up and dented. The other one is the one that has the metal insert in it to hold it to your line. Some people call them bell sinkers. The metal piece is very loose, and has something sticky over the hole. Use the picture to judge condition farther. The biggest one that you can see right under the brown minnow has what I believe is a 6 on it. The three way swivels in this lot are small. Use the picture to see. The other snap swivels are bigger. There is about 19 of them. Most of them are roughly 2 inches long, however, there are some that are different sizes. They will all be connected in a chain when I ship them. Some of them are dirty and may have some water spots on them. They look to be pretty old, but I am not for sure how old they are. Antique Victorian Alnwick Hardy Fly Fishing Rod Snake Eyes Cork Handle Date 1899
HARDY TEN FOOT FLY ROD. I first started fishing at the tender age of eight. Now into my sixties I have been through it all, pleasure, match, running clubs and ponds and now the more relaxing bite-less hours of carp fishing. Over the years I collected ABU and Mitchell reels and a few rods. This was my Holy Grail of tackle and took pride of place when talking vintage tackle, it is exactly as I purchased other than the annual polish I had to give it, the condition is not good but for its age I suppose that can be forgiven, the non-prefix number points to 1899 I think, the cork handle is very fair with reel rings and stop ring all intact, the rod itself has issues with the varnish in places and slight curvature that I am sure will correct, original Hardy snake eyes are correct other than one missing, the remaining ones have rusty surface again ... morethis is correct as the eyes would have been steel wire produced, the top eye is twisted, the ferrell's are the Hardy Twist Lock but are probably the worst feature of the rod, the female needs re-whipping and the male has all but lost the locking pin to rust. It is complete in a rod bag possibly original but again in poor condition. Well there it is. Probably one of the oldest Hardy rods you will see on ebay this year, needing a expert to bring it back to life or as myself just a great talking point. Here is a nice set of 5 fishing line guides for a fishing pole. Great condition with no chips or cracks. The tip still has a piece of the pole in it. Feedback is a huge issue for sellers. Very Early Metal Rod- Unknown Maker This looks like it was one of the first"travel rods" It breaks down into three 20" sections. And it's about 4' 8 1/2" long when assembled. It has a metal/steel blank, a cork grip with a metal reel seat that has a trigger grip on the underside. There is also a metal cap on the butt of the rod. It has 3 metal eyes with red glass inserts. One of the inserts is missing, and there is a crack in the metal loop that holds the reel in place. Other than that, it's in pretty good condition and displays well. Vintage HEDDON PAL STEEL FISHING ROD Glass/agate eyes, Cork handle
Here is a neat old vintage steel fishing rod. Marked"Heddon Pal" on the reel seat and alos on lower base of rod itself. Length is about 58 inches. All 4 of the line guides are good and securely mounted. The 3 interior guides are bound nicely with factory string. The 3 interior guides have red glass/agate inserts which are in nice condition. The handle is cork. The cork has some small flaws but is still nice. No butt cap. Reel seat screw/threaded rod and clamp is good I do not see any serious damage nor repairs unless I have listed it above. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. Some wear from handling and use but overall quite nice condition. I do not know how old it is but it is vintage. It is a neat looking an unusual vintage fishing collectable. Here is an old Michigan made Fly Rod fishing pole. Large white spots are camera glare. The old fly rod has not been cleaned yet and should shine up a bit. This old unknown fly rod is a old metal fishing rod. This antique fish pole is unique with Red Glass eyes. Don't see any damage to the galss eyes, just some dirt that should clean up. The old fishing rod is a telescoping fishing pole. The vintage fishing rod has a cork handle and a odd hook looking metal ring that slides up to hold the old fly reel. The old metal fishing rod is unmarked. The vintage fishing pole is a four section rod and the sections slide out. When the old fish pole is extended, it measures about 4'10" long. The old fishing rod is not a die cast rod but looks to be roll formed and is made of metal. The old telescope type rod does have some rust but will leave ... morethe cleaning to the bidder. Still may be a rare fishing rod but not sure? I don't know much about old fly rods but don't think it's been messed with or don't think it's and old bamboo fly rod but sure the old Trout fly rod collector will know. This is a bit strange to me to see eyes on both sides of the rod. There are some eyes that are missing on one of the two end pieces. There are four pieces with what seems to be two pieces with tips on the end. The pieces fit together and come in a cloth bag. The bags are both in bad shape but have done a good job keeping the rod all together for so many years. I can not find a name on it. And I have no idea how old it is.
