12 Fly Rod Handles and Reel Seats for Rod Building or Repair
These 12 fly rod handles were cut off of graphite rods. All have fully working reel seats that could be used for rod building and repairs. I added a ferrule to one I kept for myself to make an independent handle. There are probably other possibilities that I haven't thought of. Several seats are marked"White River. This is a set of two fly rod tube handles. Used. But in good condition. These are made of plastic and the holes are 2 inch ID so should fit a 2 inch OD fly rod tube. They originally came off plastic rod tubes, and could be installed/removed by sliding on from either end. Vintage bamboo fly rod parts-21 sections with 5 reel seats and cork handles
For the vintage bamboo rod restorer. Maker, or repair specialist. a lot of 21 unmatched sections from old bamboo fly rods. This is a parting-out lot of genuine rod parts/pieces. The lot includes 5 base sections, with cork handles and reel seats, 10 mid-sections, and 6 top pieces with tip-top guides. There are 14 male ferrules and 8 female ferrules. Some sections are complete with nice wraps and guides, others have just one guide. Two cork handles have been recently sanded. All of the decals are missing from the rods, but some clearly had manufacturer decals during their active fishing life. None of the rod sections have been broken/snapped- these are the leftovers after the broken/snapped section was tossed. My photos show the exact items that you are getting. ~ This lot includes a 37" long HANDLE section marked WINCHESTER TRADE MARK MADE IN USA 6070. The laquered bamboo is about 7/16" at the widest part) and it has a metal ferrule at the upper end. The rest of the pieces have NO manfacturers marks. ~ There is a 10-1/2" handle section with a cork handle that is CRUSHED on the bottom end. There is one 38" long middle section with two wire eyes. Green thread wrap and metal ferrules on each end. Another similar section has two eyes with red thread wrap and dual metal ferrules. There is a middle and a matching tip section(with 3 eyes) that measure 37" and 25" A 24" bottom section(with no eyes) has metal ferrules ... moreon both ends. A 36" tip section, with 3 eyes and green thread wrap, has a metal bottom ferrule. Another 36" tip section, with 5 eyes has brown thread wrap and a bottom metal ferrule. UNKNOWN BAMBOO FLY ROD 3 CORK HANDLES SPLIT BAMBOO FISHING RODS HEDDON ? PARTS ?
Here is a Estate sale find that someone may be able to use but not sure. This set of bamboo fly fishing rods are for PARTS ONLY and need repairs. There are NO old fly reels included in the auction. This auction is for the SIX pieces of bamboo fishing rods. This old fly rod fishing rod lot includes 6 pieces of split bamboo fishing rods. The old fishing rod lot has THREE Cork handles. One Middle section and Two bamboo tips. The old fishing lure or old fishing rod collector may be able to put these to use with using the wire guides, cork handles or maybe the wood parts of the old rods? I am not sure if these used to be Heddon fly rods fishing rods or what? The old wood fishing rods have no markings on them. The three bottom sections of the old fly rod pieces do have cork handles. Two are made the same style and one has a little different style ... morewith the cork on the end of the rod and the fly reel would be mounted in front of the cork. The middle section in this old wood rod lot has green thread and wire line eyes. The two bamboo fly rod tips have different color thread also with wire line eyes. NOT sure if any of these mach or go together. Thought I would list them for someone to maybe be able to use as parts or just hang around the cabin for old fishing decor. These are old bamboo fishing rods in need of repair. Listing them as a lot and hope someone can use them. Here we have a beautiful hand made 9 ft. bamboo fly rod 2 handle set. This rod was painstakingly built using only of the finest materials available. This rod was my demonstration rod so it is listed as used. The handles and reel seats are made of sectioned AAAA+ Fancy Claro Walnut burl and Box Elder Burl. Accented with Maple and Purple Heart burl spacers. It comes with a second handle that is fitted with a female ferrule to accept the male ferrule of the mid section making it into a sweet little 7 ft. 2 piece rod for small streams. The ferrules were precision machined from solid Nickle Silver stock and are very well fitting and make the customary pop when pulled apart. It features a machined Bronze winding check and Bronze wire snake guides with a custom made agate stripper guide from Golden Witch. All sections measure 37 1/4" This rod ... moreis well balanced and has a very nice action. It also comes with a rod sock but no tube. Vintage USA CO Chicago manufactured two butt. Steel fishing rod set. One butt(both cork and nickel silver reel seats) is for black bass fishing as they would have called largemouth bass fishing in the"olden days" and the other butt reel seat used for fly fishing or early spin fishing reels. The rod is 72 inched and totally usable, but it is vintage for collecting or as a wall hanging display with a vintage bass reel for home or store display. One butt has cork bottom re glued to stabilize a small break. All eyes are good and agate ruby red amber colored glass guide inserts are not cracked. The cotton bag that the rod sections fit into for travel& storage is all there and original even with securing tie ribbons. The comes apart to 20 inches. The ferrules are brass. No splits and the patina shows off this early 20th century vintage( ... morein those days black paint was baked on) much paint has worn off but smoothly. This is a great fishing collectible.
