VINTAGE ORIGINAL POST WWII SPLIT BAMBOO FLY/CAST FISHING ROD KIT This auction is for a vintage five piece Post WW II“White Bear” split bamboo fly and casting rod combination kit with original wooden storage box. The kit includes 18 assorted hand tied flies. Silk gut leader material, snelled hooks and a unique pair of scissors all protected by a plastic covering. The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. There is a 100% intact White Bear decal on the handle. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33 ½” I would estimate the fly line weight to be a four-five. The 6 1/8” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in excellent condition. There is a crack on the female ferrule on the handle section. I believe this may have occurred ... moreduring the years this rod has been in storage. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on each tip section. The casting tip section has three guides. There is a stripper guide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is also in great condition. The honey colored cane and varnish finish are excellent. Check out all 17of the full screen high quality pictures to fully appreciate this gorgeous rod. You would be hard pressed to find another POST WW II rod kit is this condition. The casting action is awesome and this classic wand would be right at home on creeks. Streams and lakes. Nice vintage bamboo fly fishing set. I have no prior knowledge of vintage fishing reels. Saukua set that says made in Tokyo Japan. The worst damage seems to be some peeling which is pictured in picture#7. As you can see in the other pictures the other rods are in great shape. There are suppose to be 2 clasps that keep the box closed. 1 of them is missing.

Vintage Post WWII Sakurai/Sakura Split Bamboo Fly/Cast Fishing Rod Kit
This auction is for a vintage five piece Post WWII Sakurai split bamboo fly and casting rod combination kit with wooden storage box. It is in very good original condition. The kit includes the rod. A genuine silk plaited line, and other random accessories(all shown in the photographs) The wooden box includes an internal storage area to store additional accessories. There is a Sakura decal on the handle and on the wooden box. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. Four sections measure 33” and one tip section is 27 ½” The 6 ¾” cork handle is in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on one tip section and two on the second. The casting tip section has two guides. There is a stripper guide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The 33” tip ... moresection is not original to the rod but fits perfectly. All of the sections have the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. The male ferrule when inserted into the casting end of the reel seat does not slide in completely but it is a secure fit. There is a slight set which will not affect the casting of the rod. The wooden storage box is slightly weathered. And one of the hinges is loose. The honey-colored cane and varnish finish are excellent. The casting action is awesome and this classic wand would be right at home on creeks, streams, and lakes. It will also make a great display.

Normal 0 Vintage Early 1950s White Bear Fly Rod Box. Rods, Flies, Very Complete Items are in good used shape. I was told by the older gentleman that I got this from that it had never been used and that may be true. The only thing I can say is that the sliding plastic that goes over the flies and hooks etc has a break in the middle and is wavy from time. The box is good except for some light splintering on the bottom of one end. The hooks and flies look complete(the end where the swivels are looks a little light to me) There are 5 rod pieces. It was manufactured by Ueno Seiko Co. LTD Japan. It can be used as a 8’ three piece fly rod(with extra tip) or a two piece 5 ½’ casting rod. All sections measure 32 ½” The Olympic storage box contains the original decals. Introduction pamphlet, 20 hand tied flies, a bobber, leader holder, snelled hooks and an Olympic reel clothe. The six inch cork handle an up lock screw reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the mid section. There on the fly rod tips and two on the casting tip. There is a stripper guide on the bottom section. The bottom section and casting tip are not original to the other sections but fit together perfectly. There is“Vicki” decal on the box. The kit includes 12 assorted hand tied flies. Leader material, wooden leader holder, snelled hooks and a unique pair of scissors all protected by a plastic covering. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 32 ½” There is also an extra bottom section. I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 6 1/4” cork handle is in very good condition. The reel seat holder is slightly bent but it still mounts a fly reel solidly(see picture– the fly reel is not part of the auction) There is a dent on the side on the reel seat ... morewhich will not affect its use. There is a ¼” split on one of bottom section which also will not affect its use. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on each tip section. The casting tip section has three guides. There is a stripper guide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is functional condition. It has some wear near one of corners(see picture) The brownstone colored cane and varnish finish are excellent. It is in excellent original condition. It contains the original Sakura Whale Bone information card. The kit includes15 assorted hand tied flies. Leader material, a wooden leader holder and two unique bobbers protected by two sliding wooden coverings. There is a Sakurai decal on the handle and on the wooden box. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33” I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 5 ¾” cork handle is in mint condition and is in its original plastic covering. The screw up lock reel seat is also in excellent shape. Vintage 1940s 50s Fly Casting Fishing Whale Bone Bamboo Rod Tips Kit Tackle Case
I found this fly rod tip kit in my dad's things-it belonged to his brother. And apparently was given to my dad. I really don't know a lot about it. But one of the rod tips has a tag attached that says"Made of Whale Bone" and the other rod tip has 6 sides-I believe it may be made of bamboo? There are also 6 wooden bobbers. Line, sinkers/weights, hooks, flies, and a wooden piece that looks sort of like a fence-this may have been to wind your line on? Rod tips are about 32 1/2" long; case is about 34 1/2" long. The 2 pieces of wood slide into grooves to cover the tackle sections. Case has some general wear on outside. And my uncle wrote his name, Mach. Shop, and Keep Off! on the top. It has the Fenwick Eagle on the second piece but no other markings. The metal reel seat and cork handle are in excellent condition. The rod blank is in the traditional chocolate brown Fenwick color. All of the line guides are well wrapped in traditional Fenwick colors and the ferrules are still tight. I don’t know the age of the rod but it’s a nice example of a Fenwick pack fly rod. The rod can be used as a three piece eight’ fly rod; a 6 ½’ fly rod; a 8’ still fishing rod; a 6 ½’ light trolling rod; 5 1/2’ casting rod and a one piece casting rod. Up for sale is my White Bear flyrod I've owned this rod for 25 years. It's been a display piece in my office. The rod measures about 8' when assembled. The box includes three different tips for a total of 5 rod pieces. The kit also has 22 flies that came with the original kit as well as a package of hooks that were made in Japan. Stream King Bamboo Fly Rod Split Bamboorod Fishing Kit
This is a stream king bamboo fly rod that was made in Japan. I am guessing the rod to be pretty old. Maybe prewar. The rod is 3pc and has 2 different end pieces. To be clear there are 4pcs total. The different ends change the weight of the rod or make it a spinning rod rather than fly rod(I am not really sure) The rod is still in its original box with the original accessories. The kit contains some hooks, bamboo bobbers, and some leaders. The box is complete but could use a little glue and cleaning in a few places. The rod looks to be in nice shape considering its age. This rod was made in the 80's from an Orvis rod blank kit. It was used primarily with 5-weight lines. It is in excellent condition. The cork grip shows natural use darkening. VINTAGE ORIGINAL EX+ POST WWII SPLIT BAMBOO FLY/CAST FISHING ROD KIT This auction is for a vintage four piece Post WW II split bamboo fly and casting rod combination kit with original wooden storage box. There is no decal but I believe it is a Grampus Model. The kit includes 11 assorted hand tied flies. Silk gut leader material, snelled hooks and a unique bobber. The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33" I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 6 1/4” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on the fly rod tip section. The casting tip section has two guides. There is a stripper ... moreguide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is also in great condition. The original honey colored cane and varnish finish are gorgeous. You would be hard pressed to find another POST WW II rod kit is this great a condition. The casting action is awesome and this classic wand would be right at home on creeks. Streams and lakes. 3pc 1T 5wt Penta Bamboo Fly Rod, Exc.--prob. ca. 1940s Uslan Kit Rod lot #49
The only markings on this rod are: 8'6" 5wt. and the number 13211 on all three sections. It is a 3 pc. one tip rod. And all three sections are the same length, and when assembled it is slightly less than eight and a half feet long. Even though this rod has no maker's mark on it, I believe it is an Uslan kit rod from the late forties, before Louis Feierabend came on board-it sports the hardware Uslan rods wore before Nat began using Super Z ferrules, and its action is identical to a marked two piece Nat Uslan rod in my collection. I've fished with this rod(as I do with all the rods in my collection) and can affirm that it will throw a five-weight line into the middle of next week, and will handle a 4 1/2 pound hen steelhead with no difficulty. Here is a Johnson fly fishing rod and reel set. This includes a vinyl case. Rod, reel, extra spool, and 3 original paper items. The case is marked Johnson EXECUTIVE TRAVEL-PAC. The reel is marked Johnson Magnetic NO. 3. The rod is marked Johnson F3. The rod is 4 pieces. It appears to be fiberglass. It has a cork handle and green windings. The rod measures about 96" long overall. The vinyl case has a fleece lining. It has a zipper that wraps around three sides. The case measures about 26" by 8" This has a Johnson Magnetic fly reel model no. 3 sheet, Johnson Executive fly fishing pac pricing sheet, and Johnson Fisherman's handbook. The extra spool was designed to have a second line type available. Get this great, old set! This is used. It appears to have had very little use. The print on the outside of the case has some wear. ... moreIt is missing the TR in travel. There are a couple of paint and glue drops from being stored in a garage. The zipper has some corrosion, but works good. The case has some scuffs and light discoloring spots. The reel has some paint loss and wear to the outside edge. The white, plastic piece at the end of the cork has yellowed. The cork is in good shape. The rod is in good shape. There is very slight wear to a couple of the windings. The rod connections are very tight, as I don't believe it has been used much. The three papers have discoloring, wrinkles, bends and wear.
