I replace the ferrules and reel seat when I redo a rod. However, I like the ferrules which are original. I don’t see them with rods from the 1940’s/50’s that I typically redo. I also kept the reel seat. It is nickel plated and says FROST’S KELSO. Includes a rod sock that is old. It came with the rod but not sure if it’s the original. The old varnish has been removed and I re-wrapped the rod with silk thread. It has been finished with 5 coats of Spar Varnish– hand dipped. A very lightly used and pampered Sage 3 wt Fly Rod. This is an awesome rod I used a couple of times in Alaska for Grayling. Casts like a dream and bends like butter on fish. Beautiful copper brown color. No nicks or scratches on the rod or cork. There is a persons name on the rod. Only reason for selling is that I just don't fish for small trout or grayling anymore. Hate to part with this but you will love it. Comes with rod sock and hard case. All original. It is a 3 piece hollow built bamboo fly rod with 4 tips for a lifetime of fishing(talk about a good insurance policy) The rod is 8'1" and all pieces are full length. Built in February of 2008. It is hollow built well into the tips and feature truncated ferrules. It weighs 3-1/8 ounces. Nickel silver reel seat accentuates the nice blonde cane. This one has a curly Paduak reel seat with translucent gold silk wraps. The rod as intermediate wraps to demarcate the 18" 20" 22" and 24" points on the rod. Unassuming yet gorgeous in appearance.
