I have always fished either moderate-fast to super-fast action rods so this was definitely a change of pace for me. To sum up my experience with this rod. This was easily the most fun I have ever had fishing a new rod. The sensitivity and capability to punch out 50+ ft casts with a double nymph indicator rig, completely amazed me! The first fish I landed was a 5-6" wild bow and I was shocked that I could feel every head shake with this small fish. Even though I was completely isolated, I think I actually chuckled out loud when I eventually hooked into and battled a 20" wild bow before netting. Three different other anglers saw me carrying this rod and one even commented"you're bringing a knife to a gun fight" The comments were understandable considering the fish this creek was known for but I had no problem handling both the 20" wild hen bow as well as a 17" wild buck. I can't remember when I've had as much fun fishing with a fly rod. For auction is a Vintage Custom built Walton Powell Split Bamboo 5' 7" 3pc, 2WT Flyrod with tube but missing sock. The metal and wraps on eyes are great. The two wraps on either side of the logo need to be cleaned up and refinished. The cork has a few very small marks in it. So small I can't get a good picture. Vintage Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod Pole - Union 58 - 8'-5" 3pc with extra tip
Here is a vintage Bamboo fly rod by Union. This is a 3 piece set that has an extra tip that comes with the alloy tube. This rod is 8'5" and weighs 2.56oz. This set does show a little wear. But it is complete. The eyelets are intact but two have been replace. The end eyelet of one of the tips has been replace along with the first eyelet on main pole. It has 8 Line Guides(1st guide is an old AGATE Guide.the rest are usual wire type fly rod guides)ALL(except the Agate guide) of the line guides& wraps are original, and still in Very Good condition.The Agate Guide is bent a bit.
