This is an awesome fly rod that I have used 5 times total. It has a few minor scratches on it that I tried my best to highlight in the pictures. Please look closely. The guides are all perfect and the rod is functionally perfect. It comes with the original sage rod tube/case that has 4 individual sections for each part of the rod. This setup is perfect for fishing anything from small mountain streams up to larger rivers and lakes. Also as a bonus I am throwing in this Okuma Sierra 5/6 reel with backing and line. As you can see from the pics. It has some wear and tear, but the bearing works fine and I actually have been using this reel as my primary reel. Up for sale is a barely used. Near mint Sage ZXL 590-4. I bought this rod this past spring to fish for browns and brooks in the local rivers along with a 9ft 4wt of the same model. I've found myself constantly taking the 4wt instead of the 5 and this one tends to sit unused in the closet. The rod does show some very minor signs of use(minimal soiling to cork and scratches on the butt cap that were there when I bought it) The rod has been used for maybe 6-7hrs over 3 trips and the warranty card has not been sent in yet. I have filled it out. But it is sitting on the counter waiting for a stamp. I have an extra warranty card that is blank that I can send to you if you'd rather not cross my name and address off. This crisp-loading quick-tipped fast-action fly rod naturally shows a few nominal signs of light cosmetic wear and tear in the expected high traffic areas that one might expect in a rod that's seen infrequent use. As evidenced in the photos. The cork grip displays a bit of noteworthy staining from previous handling, but remains overall free from any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. Though not as shiny perhaps as it once was new, the sturdy up-locking nickle-silver and wood reel seat still looks handsomes and still functions perfectly too. A close inspection of the rod's rich green blank from tip to butt reveals the usual small scuffs and scrapes in the expected areas. But no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches, scores, or penetrating nicks were found that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. A close review of the rod's guides reveals a small thread tag protruding from one of the snake guide's epoxied-wraps(see pic 7!
