The first is just a 10ft floating head that will help turn over those big flies that you are trying to keep close the surface. The second is 10ft tip that is integrated with 5 ft of floating and 5ft of T-11. The third head is just straight 12.5 ft of T-11. These Rio Mow tips run $25.00 dollars a piece. This would be a total value of $850.00. Again. This rod and reel has only been used twice so it is basically brand new. The only visible things wrong with this setup are two very small scratches on the reel. The scratches are so minuscule that they are almost not worth mentioning, but I am a totally straight forward seller. This package has everything you need to fish it, but a fly on the end of the leader. There are two pictures that include the only imperfections. One picture shows the tiny scratches on the reel. This is a special factory reps rod that I purchased new from an authorized Scott shop in Colorado in 1998. It has not been fished a whole lot over the years and is still in excellent condition. Overall. There are a few minute scuffs on the blank and the cork has moderate soiling. All guides and wraps are in perfect shape. Epoxy is smooth with no cracking and the ferules are strong with no excessive wear. The aluminum case has some scratches and the rod sock does have my name embroidered on it. I was told that this was one of the first examples of the Arc technology that Scott was putting on the market which explains the'A' in the model# I have the original invoice which I will include, that describes the rod as an Arc, in case anyone doubts my story. This rod has the guts to fish a long taper floating line as well as sink tips and ... morelarger flies. I have fished it on the Deschutes and Grande Ronde with a Rio Steelhead line and down in the Yucatan for small bones with a Rio Bonefish line. Although it is far from a modern day fast action rod, it handles moderate wind just fine and as a bonus, will make roll casts and long mends on 90' swings without blinking.It has a 5/8" long fighting butt. For auction is a factory built Sage TCX 12'6" 7 weight 4 piece spey rod. Deemed the"Deathstar" It boasts Sage proprietary Generation 5 Technology and weighs 7 5/8 ounces. It features a Kryponite Green blank. A nickel colored reel seat, and goldenrod/garnet thread wraps. The TCX line of fly rods define precision. Power, and feel. This rod is in decent condition. It's been fished hard and shows wear as a result. The cork handles and reel seat are in good shape. The rod blank has two places where the green finish has rubbed off from boats rides. See pics. Also. Two of the three female ferrule connections are slightly cracked. It doesn't appear to be fully compromised, but if the ferrules come loose while casting they could break over time, like any fly rod would. As with any Sage rod. It has a lifetime warranty. For auction is a factory built Scott S3 9'6" 7wt fly rod. It weighs 4.3 ounces. Has Scott's proprietary internal ferrule system, a dark blue blank, matching blue and silver thread wraps, and an black aluminum reel seat. Rod is in excellent condition. Rod blank has one minor scuff near the inscription. Otherwise perfect. Cork is clean and good, but has a small chunk missing in the top edge. This Scott S3 is an excellent steelhead rod for nymphing. Sage XP 9ft 6 inch 4 piece 7 wt Fly fishing rod
This Sage XP rod is in Superb condition. It has had very little usage and has spent all of the past 5 years sitting in its rod tube gathering dust. in my rod room Hence the reason for sale- I just don't find the opportunity to use it. It comes complete with original cloth bag and aluminium rod tube. The only real sign of wear is not on the rod. But on the rod tube, where the circular edge suffered mild abrasion after dragging a heavy holdall containing the rod through San Francisco airport- the cordura wore through and there was some minor abrasion to the rod tube. I've attached a picture in order to provide a fair view of this items condition. In summary a super rod from the legendary Sage XP range waiting to find an owner with the opportunity to use it!
