Barely-Used Redington CPS 9'0" 7wt. 4pc. fly rod with tube and sock
This is a lightly-used Redington CPS 9'0" 7-weight 4-piece rod. This rod is best described as"nearly new" because I purchased it. Fished it several times, then broke it. Because Redington simply replaces broken rods, I received a totally new and unfished rod, which I then took on several trips but did not fish after the break. The rod shows some signs of wear(and the sock/case are from the original rod) but it's actually not been fished a day. This is a great fast-action 7-weight that I purchased as a backup fly rod for bonefishing trips; I've used its predecessor for bonefish. Redfish, summer steelhead, and carp. It's a great big trout rod as well. I used it for several years as a backup rod; I recently purchased a new 7-weight, so my old 7-weight is now my backup, and this rod needs to move on to a new, good ... morehome. It's in great shape; clean cork and no real scratches- like I said. It's been carried around but not fished since my broken rod was replaced with this one. It is a fast-action 4-piece rod that really works well on a variety of species. There is some white residue on the reel seat. I made sure to show you a picture of the worst bit. It's paint from the gunwale of a flats-boat that transferred to the rod. Hard to get off, but has no effect on performance; you could probably scrape it off if you put some effort into it- I didn't. This rod retailed new for $250.00. It's a great backup rod or a steal for someone looking to make a great 7-weight purchase without breaking the bank. Fast-Action) with Divided Rod Sock& Rod Tube included The Sage XP Series 9'0" 4-piece 7-weight Fly Rod being auctioned here is in handsome lightly ... moreused condition. Well-cared for by its previous owner and only occasionally fished. This smooth loading, lightweight, fast-action fly rod naturally shows a few nominal signs of trace cosmetic wear and tear in the expected high traffic areas that one would expect in a rod that's seen rare, infrequent use. As evidenced in the photos. The cork grip and fighting butt display a modest bit of light staining from previous handling, but remains overall, pleasantly free from any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. While perhaps not as handsome as it first was new. The sturdy up-locking reel seat looks great and still functions perfectly too. And a close inspection of the rod's glossy green blank from tip to butt reveals the usual small scuffs and scrapes in the expected places. But no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches, scores, or penetrating nicks were found that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. A close review of the rod's guides reveals no trace of tarnish. Rust, or oxidization present, and no grooving, deformation, or misalignment of any kind was found.
