This rod has nothing more than a couple of TINY dings in the clear coat from travel. It will come with it's divided and padded travel/storage case. J. K. Fisher "60th Anniversary" Original Graphite Fly Rod - 9 ft, 7-8 wt
For auction is the first of two matching original J.K. Fisher"60th Anniversary" Graphite Fly Rods. Made in the late 1980's to early 1990's. This rod is#27808F, and is 9ft for#7- 8 weight lines. It is in excellent plus condition, fished by its original owner up to a handful of times, and then stored carefully away in its original rod bag until now. Graphite blank is dark gray. Deeply polished; wraps are brown, ferrules are the distinctive Fisher spigot-type, reminiscent of the elegant Fisher-produced Scientific Angler's System fly rods of the 1970's. Seven snake guides are chrome-plated stainless steel, with two ceramic insert s.s.stripping guides, and a s.s. hook keeper. Reel seat is dark gray anodized aluminum, downlocking with double locking nuts and black rubber butt insert- also reminiscent of the earlier SA ... moreSystem rods. Cork grip is classic cigar shape. Much has been discussed about the design collaboration between Fisher and its rod company customers. Which included Winston, Scott, Hardy, SA and Claudio, among others. Doug Merrick and Tom Morgan of Winston and Jon Tarrantino of SA, especially, provided Fisher with design ideas and specifications for their rods, over the years that Fisher produced their blanks and finished rods. Though not often mentioned, Tom Maxwell at Leonard also chose Fisher blanks for a number of Leonard Prototype Graphite models in the early 1980's. All these rod companies went to Fisher for their manufacturing technology, their glass and graphite weave and resin systems, and their ability to adapt to design changes suggested by the rod designers. this resulted in an inherent high performance, including dampening, sensitivity, weight and strength, as well as beautiful finish. Sage Xi2 890-4, 8 wt. 9 ft. Fly Rod
Sage Xi2 8 weight. 9 foot, 4 piece fly rod. The rod is in excellent condition. Angling on the Fly" is inscribed on the blank as seen in the photos. There is slight soiling of the cork from normal usage. There are no divots in the cork. The reel seat pristine. There is a 1/8" shallow scrape in the finish below the stripping guide and a few superficial scratches above the stripping guide and the next higher guide. There is also a 1/4" blemish on the next higher guide's finish. These defects are seen in the photos. The guides are rust free and without signs of oxidation. Included with the rod is the Sage rod sack and rod tube. These are both in excellent condition.

I've owned this rod for years and as you can tell from the photos it has seen a decent amount of use. There is some wear. Marring, and scratches on it, and the rod tube has been beat up from traveling but everything is purely cosmetic and the function of the rod has not been affected at all. It's been a great rod I just don't need it anymore.
