But is in good shape and you can save quite a bit of cash as a brand new one is $885. There are a few light scratches and scuffs on the rod blank itself- all of them pretty light. The handle and reel seat are in good condition as well- no major issues. The tip does have a slight epoxy build up- there doesn't seem to be any issues as it is very secure from our tests. Original G Loomis rod tube and rod sock included. This is a factory built fly rod- not a second. Demo or custom build. Orignally: $885- The casting method called"Skagit" originated in the early 1990's to describe an offshoot system of spey casting used by U.S. steelheaders on Washington State's Skagit River. The used Scott S3S 909/4 series 9'0" 4pc 9wt ... moreFly Rod featured here naturally shows some minor signs of cosmetic wear or tear in the high traffic areas that one would expect in an offering that's been occasionally fished. As the photos show. The cork grip does display some faint staining from previous handling, but remains overall void of any noteworthy chips, gouges or excessive missing fill. Though not quite as bright or as shiny as it perhaps was new. The sturdy up-locking black-anodized aluminum reel seat still looks fantastic and functions perfectly too. A close inspection of the rod's richly finished gloss-blue blank from tip to butt reveals but a handful of minor usage marks in the typical high-wear areas. But no other signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches, scores, or penetrating nicks were found that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. A close review of the rod's guides shows only a faint trace nominal orange-colored oxidization developing at the base of a few feet. It features an anodized aluminum reel seat with a cork/neoprene fighting butt. There's a few light scratches and dings on the rod. There's a tiny bit of corrosion under the epoxy on one of the stripping guides(nothing to effect performance) The cork is a touch dirty and broken in.
