This Fenwick Eagle GTC EF 908 9' 8wt fly rod with removable fighting butt includes the original rod sack with label and cordura Fenwick embroidered rod tube. Original rod label is also still tied to the handle for the tube. The rod is in perfect like new condition and the grip shows no dirt or wear. I cast this rod in the yard last weekend with a WF7 line and it performs like my higher end HMG and Techna AV Fenwick from the 1980s and 1990s. Great casts using the double haul out to 70 ft or so. My son and I also experimented with some switch and spey casts. Using the fighting butt, and it threw some nice loops without the backcast. Since the fighting butt is removable, and has threaded attachment, you could add a longer fighting butt to gain more leverage on your casts, giving you a switch or spey rod at a fraction of the cost. I bought ... morethis rod to be part of my pike and musky arsenal. But I realized I have too many to seriously use at our lake house in Northern Wisconsin. VIntage 8' Fenwick Eagle Graphite Fly Rod 6 Weight E80-6F
Fenwick's classic trout rod. The Eagle E80-6F two piece graphite. Relaxed action that reminds me of a crisp cane rod. Very easy to cast well, unlike the faster, more demanding rods that are all too common today. Excellent used condition: I suppose cork grip could be cleaned if you wanted to take the trouble, and very slight areas of wear on reel seat. Comes in the original green nylon bag and tube, although missing plastic cap- a little tape residue on plastic at top of tube should be easy to remove. After I took the pix I scraped a good deal of it off with my thumbnail. A few loose stitches on bag, nothing serious. I hate to part with this grand early graphite rod, but we are downsizing and the wife says it has to go. A great rod to take fishing, or a good addition to your collection.

Fenwick Eagle HMG Graphite Fly Rod
This is an older rod that I fished with as a young man in the mountains of Tennessee and north Georgia. It is light weight and would be perfect for small stream fishing where casting is limited. It is a lot of fun to fish with and I think you could easily put a 5 wt or maybe even a 4 wt line on it and it would do fine.
