The rod is in"Like New Condition" because I did fish with it once. About 10 or 11 years ago, maybe longer, at Lake Taneycomo, in Branson Missouri. I found it to be too fast for my expertise. This beautiful. Vintage, 9 ft, 4 piece with an extra tip, and an original felt lined grooved wooden holder, and also with a quality made reproduction canvas carrying case was made by the T.H. Chub Company of Post Mills, Vermont. The circa is 1920's. Many hours with the labor of love went into the restoration of this vintage fishing artifact by a talented Michigan rod restorer. This is a Hardy Proaxis 9 foot. 8 weight, 4 piece fly rod. This was a salesman display rod, has been cast but never fished. Is near new. Made with carbon sintrix material, this rod is 60% stronger and 30% lighter than conventional fly rod. Andy Mills won the last two Gold Cup Tarpon Tournaments with the 11 weight. I fish with the 8 and 9 weight every day. I have landed 30 pound Snook and 40 pound Tarpon with my 8 weight. Even when a big Jack ran my 8 weight under my push pole and it bent in an L shape it did not break and landed the fish. Absolutely a dream to cast and I can cast mine all day long without tiring. I bought this rod new a few years ago and have only used it a few times. Its in near mint or mint condition. Absolutely nothing wrong with it- looks basically new. Comes in case shown in pics. You'll never go back to using a 2 piece rod after this one- so convenient to have it break down into 4 pieces. But still super solid and sensitive when in use. Excellent rod. I just never got into it like I thought I would and haven't even tried using it for 20+ months. My loss is your gain.
