For sale are two vintage Horrocks Ibbotson Co. bamboo fishing rods. Both theSpinner and the Geneva rods would be considered project rods. They were both made in Utica. NY of Tonkin cane. The Spinner label is partially gone but most information can be read. It says Spinner on the rod. It is a three piece rod with a spare tip that isn't completely original. The wrappings are a different colour and the guides are differently spaced. It has a composition reel seat which has a white waxy surface. The cork is in good condition although darkened with use. The first guide has been rewrapped as has the top of the piece. There are a few casting checks on the rod. This rod could be used in it's present condition but would benefit from being worked on. I have not tried it with a line so I don't know what line weight it will take but it would ... moreprobably be 7-9 weight. It is in an original bag. This is a nine foot rod. The first piece is 37 inches. The middle piece 35.5 inches and the tip 36 inches. The Geneva spinning rod is missing a stripper guide and the windings have probably been replaced and revarnished. There are a few casting checks. The cork handle is in fairly good condition. This is a two piece rod about 6 1/2 feet long. It is in a heavy canvas bag. These rods came from the estate of a Laurentian fisherman who was also a ski instructor. He fished until the 1960's. Refurbishing these rods would be projects for cold winter nights. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are part of the description. There are no returns except in cases when the item is materially different from the listing description.
