Well this rod has been in a rod sock in a rod tube in a closet for year after year and I'd completely forgotten that I ever fished it except that there is some discoloration to the grip so you know it's been in somebody's hand for at least a bit. I am now entering the"C.R.S. stage of memory function and unfortunately will not be able to answer any questions about this item. As with the Billy Pate rod, it is being sold with an aluminum rod tube that is longer than the rod actually needs- I would guess the tube was made for an 8-1/2 footer. Shipping is $10; however if the rod sells for more than $50 the shipping is $5 and if the closing price is over $100 then shipping ... moreis free. In which case you will have to wait for an invoice. A note about handling time: I have a full-time day job in Accounting. And furthermore provide church organ or piano music at 12- 14 worship services per month. If you're coming to Alaska this summer to fish. You'll want to bring this rod with you. It is a spectacular Abercrombie and Fitch Featherweight. Just right for sockeye salmon and rainbow trout. It's 2 piece. 8 1/2 ft, weighs 4 1/8 oz. takes a 7 weight line. There's one stripping guide on the butt section and six snake guides on the tip. This rod looks like it's never been fished. Though I'm sure it has. I got it from an estate sale down on the Kenai Peninsula. The guy had a lot of very nice gear having lived his life just miles from some of the best fishing Alaska has to offer. I'm not sure about the hook keeper. It looks like he added it later. The wrapping doesn't quite match the rest of the rod. I gave you some good views of it in the pictures. The rest of the rod is definitely original and is in near mint ... morecondition. I wish I could say the same about the rod tube and sock. The tube is original. But is missing the cap. The sock doesn't match the rod. Too short and not original Since I have to come up with a shipping container anyway. I made a rod tube just like the ones I used when I guided on Alaska's famed Kvichak River. It's made of 2 inch schedule 40 pvc pipe. It'll get this rod anywhere safely. And there's room in it for another smaller rod. Like your grayling and Dolly Varden rod. You'll have to come up with a sock.

It is in excellent plus condition, fished by its original owner up to a handful of times, and then stored carefully away in its original rod bag until now. Graphite blank is dark gray. Deeply polished; wraps are brown, ferrules are the distinctive Fisher spigot-type, reminiscent of the elegant Fisher-produced Scientific Angler's System fly rods of the 1970's. Seven snake guides are chrome-plated stainless steel, with two ceramic insert s.s.stripping guides, and a s.s. hook keeper. Reel seat is dark gray anodized aluminum, downlocking with double locking nuts and black rubber butt insert- also reminiscent of the earlier SA ... moreSystem rods. Cork grip is classic cigar shape. This is a 1988- 2 piece- 8 foot 3 weight Winston Graphite Fly Rod which was lightly used and is in excellent condition. The weight of this rod is 1 7/8 ounces. It was purchased new and has had only one owner. The case has a few scratches. A smudge and a small dent which needs to be looked for to locate. The identification info on the cap of the rod case is worn off. The soft protective sponge material on the inside of the tube cap is loose. I decided not to add a drop of glue so as to show the rod components exactly as they are. The rod is in perfect working order. The ferrules are tight with no loose connections and has an absolute one piece feel. The wraps are very close to the day it left the factory as new in 1988. This is the rod for small to medium streams for trout. It is at home fishing small flies on light tippets such as 16 or 18 ... morepale evening duns, 18- 24 blue winged olives or 24 tricos. There is a great deal of pleasure ahead for the high bidder. This is not the rod for the beginner fly fisherman or fly fisherwoman.

Vintage 1950's-60's Nyglax Fiberglass fly rod conversion from a dual spin/fly rod. The rod is 7 feet long. 2 sections and smoothly casts a 5 or 6 weight line. I have fished this rod on the Beaverkill and West Branch of the Delaware and it performs beautifully and has backbone to deliver a long, accurate cast. I am a bamboo rod maker and rod restorer for over 30 years. I found this rod in its original configuration as a spin/fly rod. The model is"Nyglax Spinon" After carefully measuring the taper with my micrometer. I converted the rod to solely a fly rod. Simply couldn't be nicer. I replaced the spin/fly reel seat with a cherry spacer and A5 metal reel hardware. The rod has been completely re-wrapped in its original color wraps with brand new guides, and an agate stripper. Vintage Fenwick FF755 Fly Fishing Rod 5 Wt 2 Piece 7 1/2 Ft Length
This is a vintage Fenwick FF755 fly rod. It is used and in very good condition. It is a 5 Wt. 2 piece, 7' 1/2" total length, 3 1/8 oz, with 8 guides and tip, hook keeper, and cork grip. The previous owner of this rod got epoxy and glued a chunk of cork at the base of the cork foregrip to use as a hand stop so your hand will not slide down to the reel as you are casting. Kind of genuine, but it can be cut off if not happy the way it looks. I have described this rod to the best of my ability. Good Luck! Posted with

Phillipson "Expoxite" Fly Rod, 7-1/2 ft, w/ 5 wt + 6 wt Tips
For auction is an original 1974 Phillipson Epoxite Fiberglass fly rod. Model EF 76, 7-1/2 ft, 2-7/8 oz, with two matching tips for 5 wt and 6wt lines. It is in excellent used condition, fished but well cared for by its original owner. Fiberglass blank is rich golden tan. Complemented with brown wraps and white tipping, for an understated elegant appearance. Ferrules are tip-over fiberglass, partially wound over, with polished brass rings surrounding the open ends of the female ferrules on the tips. Ferrule fit with both tips is smooth and snug, with no appreciable wear. Carbide stripping guide, double loop next guide, and five chrome plated stainless snake guides + large loop chrome plated ss tip top on each tip; chrome s.s. hook keeper. Reel seat is Phillipson designed bronze anodized aluminum down locking, with keeper rings and finely knurled ... morelock ring. Cork grip is classic cigar shape, smooth, slightly darkened from age, and in very good condition. Original Phillipson fiberglass rods are valued by their owners for their very smooth medium action. Light weight, and effective tapers. This model is the not often encountered special two- tip version. Factory furnished with two matching tips, one designed for 5 wt line, and the second for 6 wt line. Test casting on the grass showed both tips performed graceful casts with both DT 5 and WF6 lines. The#5 tip seems just a bit more flexible, and seemed to balance better with the#5 line, though the differences in action were subtle. The#6 tip weighs just.02 ounces more than the#5 tip, and also mic's a few thousandths larger in diameter at several points along its length. No rod bag or rod tube are available for this rod. This rod will be appreciated by the fly fisherman who appreciates the traditional medium action of earlier fiberglass rods by this respected maker. Coupled with the high level of design and workmanship characteristic of Bill Phillipson's rods. It would be a perfect rod for fishing small creeks, as well as for delicate work on larger water for the
