It would be great to use on a small bamboo or graphite fly rod of your choice The reel is marked made in England I am not sure of the exact manufacture date. The reel is set up for LEFT HANDED RETRIEVE but can be also set up for right handed retrieve easily. The reel remains in very very good condition. There is light paint wear around the rim but very minor. The spare spool was probably used but it sure looks any use would have been very limited. There is no fly line on the spare spool-only backing. The line and backing on the reel is in nice condition-there is a sticker on the spool thats says AIR CEL WF-5-F The Orvis padded reel case is in great shape and the Orvis cloth liner for the spare spool is in fine shape-the Orvis lettering is fading quite a bit on the cloth. This rod does not show any signs of major wear and even the cork handles are still nice even though he put his initials in the back side of the cork in pen as seen but if you can live with that you got yourself a beautiful rod in like new condition. The fast action rod is 8.5 ft. long, of 3 piece construction, and rated for 8 weight lines. The rod has logged some fishing time. But remains in pretty nice shape. The blank is in good condition, with some marks, but nothing of any real concern. The corks looks good, as does the reel seat and extension butt. Guides are tight and straight in the wraps. The metal on the stripper guide shows some oxidation, but that is the only corrosion I see on the rod. The aluminum tube is pretty scuffed up, and has some tape residue, but no dents. There are small holes around the flap of the rod sock.
