VINTAGE JAPANESE JAPAN OKUTAMA CO. SPLIT BAMBOO FLY FISHING ROD IN BOX LOT#3 This item is in it's original condition with the exception of a missing end cap on the rod handle and was produced in the 1950's for American troops in occupied Japan. The rod sections are in perfect condition with all eyelets intact. The rod comes with an extra tip section of rod. The total length of the rod is 7.0 feet 10 inches with 3 sections assembled. The storage section of the box also contains original fishing string and lead for weight. The box contains a storage section in the lid and has the original labels which are in great condition. Nice vintage bamboo fly fishing set. I have no prior knowledge of vintage fishing reels. Saukua set that says made in Tokyo Japan. The worst damage seems to be some peeling which is pictured in picture#7. As you can see in the other pictures the other rods are in great shape. There are suppose to be 2 clasps that keep the box closed. 1 of them is missing.

Ebisu Rainbow Bamboo Fishing Rod Made in Japan Spin/Fly Fishing in Box
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this early 1950s vintage rod made in Japan. It is an Ebisu Rainbow fly/spin fishing combo rod. You reverse the grip section to fish it as a fly fishing rod. As a two piece spinning rod it is a 5'4" rod. As a three piece fly fishing rod it measures just short of 8 feet long. It appears that the tip top of the fly section has been replaced so it is probably a couple of inches shorter than it was originally manufactured but it still throws the line well. The line size for which it is balanced for is unmarked but it throws either 6 weight or 8 weight lines pretty comfortably. As a spinning rod I think you would want to keep the mono at 8 pounds or less. The rod is marked and there is a paper logo inside the case. There are no flies or other pieces in the case(it originally came with a few flies) ... moreCondition is used but in excellent condition with no damage other than the shortened fly section mentioned. The wraps and reel seat are good. The light wooden case. On the other hand, is a disaster.largely held together with scotch tape and with no end section on one side(it is actually there in the case if you want to reglue it in. Hello Folks. Up for bidding is a nice Japanese Arai bamboo fishing rod set I was told these were made shortly after WWII in what was occupied Japan This set has been very well taken care of. The bamboo looks like new, however the logo appears to be wearing off of the stick, I cannot guarantee if it was ever used but please take a look at the pictures and you will see how nice this really is. The rod is made to assemble into two different sizes: one is about 7ft 10in. and the other size is about 5ft 4in. Comes with a very light weight wooden box that was hand crafted to fit the rod and accessories. There are some stains on the outer box, the inside looks very clean, comes with four hooks and two sets of strings. And an extra back up rod attachment for the longer length. Vintage 5 Piece Bamboo Spin/fly Combo rod in Wooden box/Japan/Valiant/Clean!
A neat old 5 piece bamboo fishing rod. Made in Japan, for the collector or fishing enthusiast. Brand on the rod is Valiant. Nice label with mount Fuji I believe. 8 ft. rod when put together. Fly rod has two tips and a third tip for spin fishing. Box is dirty and the Valiant label is mostly gone. Hinges need to be nailed back on the back side. The clasp on the front side still in place and keep it closed. Top or lid of the box doubles as a tackle and fly box. The original bobber, hand line, and three flies are still in place. The bobber is sealed and marked Valiant also. One winding is coming undone near the cork. All other thread windings look good and solid. All the tips are present and correct. Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage split cane flyrod set up. Has its original wood case which states: Made In Japan For Marshall Company Inc. San Francisco. It appears to have never been used. There are 2 tip ends. One which is missing its eye at the tip and the set also appears to be missing the center rod length. There are a number of flies with it and a bobber and line and sinker. Great cork handle and this is a split bamboo cane rod. Part of the Marshall decal is missing on the rod. There is also a small end of the case that is missing. Rod end that you hold is 32.75” long and the 2 ends are approx 32 5/8” A great vintage set… I offer this as found and as shown and have done my best to describe it. The cork grip and reel seat are in fine condition as seen below. Note the cleaner grip and the reel seat looks near new. This rod is ALL-ORIGINAL and should be considered VERY RARE! Up for sale is my White Bear flyrod I've owned this rod for 25 years. It's been a display piece in my office. The rod measures about 8' when assembled. The box includes three different tips for a total of 5 rod pieces. The kit also has 22 flies that came with the original kit as well as a package of hooks that were made in Japan. The interior of the case is in pretty good shape. The outside of the case shows wear from age. As you can see in the pictures one of the latches is missing. The hinges work fine. The second configuration is a three-piece that measures a total of about 95" inches with two, changeable end sections. The rod is made out of split bamboo with a cork handle. Both of which are in good condition with some wear. This rod looks like it has had the metal connection piece repaired/ glued at the end of the first section(see pictures) and some of the thread is coming loose in two places. One of the tip eyelets is smashed closed on one of the lighter end sections. The base of the rod. Next to the handle, has a label that reads"Pearl Japan" This lot includes a five piece fly ... morerod and an aluminum tube hard case. The aluminum case measures about 39 3/8" inches by 2 1/8" inches. The case is in good condition with some wear and some small dents. The case is most likely the reason the rod is in such nice condition after all these years. Please see pictures and if you have any questions please ask before bidding. This has not been used at all and is complete. The set is all in a red plastic holder with a carrying handle. Inside is a 3 piece bamboo pole. On the carrying case are pull out compartments one holds some leads and hooks, 1 a bobber and more hooks and lures, and the bottom one holds extra string. The top of the case closes with a snap- it is a little weak. A really cute old set- won't find one more complete or in better condition. I will mail this inside a mailing tube to protect from damage.
