This is a never used Orvis Access 8' 4wt Mid Flex Fly Rod in Excellent shape. Never fished. When I bougnt the rod at Orvis Store in Chicago I didn't notice a small chink in the cork of the handle. I have a great pic of it. It certainly doesn't affect any performance of the rod. I will start the auction at 1/2 the list price.

We had a harsh winter this year in NJ therefore I wasnt able to get out as much as I wanted to. I can tell you that the rod performs incredibly well and you are able to fish hours on end without getting tired. The rod was perfectly balanced with my Orvis Access III mid-arbor reel. As a mid-flex, the rod does a great job of casting dry flies in addition to having enough back bone to nymph effectively. I also didn't have an issues casting weighted streamers, wooley buggers, etc. This is a very versatile stick! Additionally I am including the matching Orvis Access 5wt WF Trout Line in Mist Green. The line performs great and mends well due to its thin diameter and great build quality. Up for Auction is an Orvis Access 9' 5 weight Mid flex rod. These are an excellent all around rod. As you can see this rod comes in slightly used condition. It was purchased new in September. The most outstanding flaw is the the rod tube handle strap is broken on one side and has been reinforced with tape. Bought this switch rod brand new in November of 2013 from 5th Ave Orvis Store in Manhattan. Rod performed beautifully fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead this past fall. Was used for 2 outings. Light enough to high stick and operate as one hand rod while also able to two hand cast and swing flies like a Spey rod- this is the advantage of a Switch Rod. Very versatile. I recommend pairing this rod with a large arbor reel and either an oversized WF nymphing line(i.e. 8wt floating line) or a 6wt switch line- I've used both with great success. Doing some upgrading and getting rid of some fly fishing stuff. I have this great Orvis Access 9' 5wt tip flex fly rod up for auction. It is used. I fished with it for two years and love it! In my opinion nothing casts better and easier than an orvis rod. But I'm ready for a new 5wt. So here is your chance to get one on the cheap. I paid over $400 for this rod including tax.
