Up for Bids today we have a nice example of a Sage Z-axis 5126-4 Spey rod. That is a 12 foot 6 inch rod that casts a 5 weight Spey line. This rod is in excellent used condition with no scratches on the blank and a very minor mark on the reel seat. The cork is sound and is only slightly discolored. This 5 weight spey rod is great for Summer Steelhead or large Trout fishing out west. As well as summer grilse in the Atlantic. I used a RIO AFS 4/5 head on this rod and it would cast great. This is a truly great double handed Spey rod. It was custom built at Sage for a pro guide. I just fished it for Atlantic salmon in Canada. And it was great both overhand and Spey. You can huck line a country mile with this rod. Alright. So if it's so great, why am I selling it? Because I can't fish it enough. I got a new Beulah around the same time that's better suited to the kind of water I'm fishing these days, and it doesn't make sense for me to hang onto this beauty. The rod comes with the blue cloth slip case and the large metal rod case shown. I may even throw in a fly or two. This rod is lightly used. I only fished it for two or three days. Sage Z-Axis 5110 5wt 11'0" Spey Rod
This is a Sage 5110 11'0" 5 weight fly rod. It is light enough to be used for both single-handed or two handed casting. It's a very good nymph rod on larger water. Handles spey casts very well and is just a blast to use. This one has a little chunk missing from the top of the cork handle, but is otherwise in excellent shape. I've used many different spey type rods, and the Z-Axis from Sage has remained one of my all-time favorites. It's painful to get rid of this one as it has so many more years of use ahead of it.
