Here is a C.Farlow& Co London England Big Game rod and cradle style reel with dates approx. 1925.This combo is also 1 of only 3 known according to the previous owner. The rod is 6 section split bamboo and is 7' 2" when together. This is however a removable butt section and rod will break down at butt to 5' 6" The brass butt cap has the numbers 11492 stamped in lower section. The guides appear to be nickel silver and are attached to rod with yellow wraps. The guides are trumpet like with agate inserts. The reel is a narrow 12/0 and has 7"side plates and is 3 1/4" wide. It is in perfect working condition and has a brass star drag. Clicker and free spool system. There are 4 other standard guides in between the 2 roller guides. The detachable butt is a Stuart(Made in the USA) and has an aluminum reel seat. Foam Butt grip, and triangular foam fore grip. The rollers on the roller guides spin cleanly, and the flex coat on the rod is in good condition. This is a Star Rods Hand Crafted in the USA offshore trolling rod. It is model T 50 HC and is rated for 50 lb. It has a Stuart Aluminum Butt and Stuart Aluminum Reel Seat. It also has Aftco Roller Guides all the way up totaling 5 roller guides in total. And has an Aftco Roller Tip as well. The rod is in good condition with a very light saltwater rash on the roller guides. The roller tip has a little more saltwater rash than the guides. The aluminum butt has some knicks and scratches from use, and the reel seat has some wear as well. There is a slight scratch that runs along the right side of the rod from the first guide to the third guide and has a small circular piece of flex coat chip just before the third guide. We only got to use them a total of 4 or 5 times before we sold the boat. The reels are 80 lb class while the custom made rods are 130 lb class. Included in this auction: 2 Shimano Tiagra 80w two speed reels that are almost new with boxes. 1 is spooled with 150lb spider wire braid. While the other is spooled with 100lb Diamond Mono hivis yellow. 2 Custom made 130 class big game all roller rods. The rods are in great shape. The foam grips have a few small picks in the foam. The rods are 5'6" long without the bent butt, and just over 7' 9" with the bent butt attached. I believe this is an HRH Royal hickory 130 Unlimited Class fishing rod in need of restoration. It came from the'back room' at A ltenkirch Outfitters in Hampton Bays.NY. The butt is missing and there is a split and damage towards the last 12' near the tip. Still a very worthwhile project for the right angler. There are 4 original guides that survived.
