This is a rare No 3 anti-reverse Fin Nor fly reel with a right hand return. It is in excellent working conditon and it is in decent show condition. Look at the photos. I always use a flash to reveal the tiniest signs of wear. This my best one and I would like to keep it. But my other 3 works just fine. If you are going to own one saltwater fly reel. This is the one. It holds 300 yards of backing and spool size is about the same as the No. 4 but the reel is lighter than a No 4. Up for sale is a Fin-Nor 20-30lb 5'8 fishing rod with Aftco roller guides and Aftco removable unibutt. This rod is a rare find. Purchased for $379. The reel seat area is gold anodized and the rod is wrapped in black and gold. The rod uses an e-glass blank. It is in excellent condition but does have some minor cosmetic blems(from being on a boat) Very minor, nothing that would effect the rod strength in any way. The foam has an area where it looks like a hook had snagged(please see attached picture) All in all this is a very nice looking and quality fishing rod that is a great buy. PAIR OF TWO Fin-Nor 6500 OS reels. WIll not separate) Used two years. Rinsed religiously after everY use. External moving parts were oiled often. Internal gears are packed in thick grease. Bearings are smooth. Pictures show what wear and tear I can find. Currently spooled with 65lb Power Pro. One spool is a few months older than the other. You can respool if it suits you. These things are tanks. Indestructible. I have personally hauled in 5 sting ray over 80lbs each in two hours with these jokers and they never hiccuped. Fin Nor#2 Anti-reverse saltwater fly reel with extra spool. Left hand retrieve. Fin Nor stopped producing fly reels in the 1990s making all of their fly reels highly desirable. This 3½-inch diameter reel has been gently used on a few Atlantic salmon. Otherwise it has spent most of its life in a tackle bag. The black finish shows some scuff marks but these are of a cosmetic nature only. The reel sounds and functions perfectly with its fine, smooth vault-like click. The reel was machined from bar stock aluminum and was made to accommodate a#7-9 wt fly line with up to 250 yards backing. The Fin Nor#2 remains a popular reel for bonefish, Atlantic salmon or steelhead. The 1" wide spare spool comes with its original neoprene sack.

Here is an early FIN NOR 9/0 from the late 1940's to 1950's era I believe after reading Ed Prichards/Bruce Matthews great book. Fin Nor, The Legacy Years" It is in pretty nice condition for its age with very little of the usual boat rash common to these gold anodized reels. They were not babied. These reels were the work horse tools of big game fisherman all over the world, hence some have taken a serious beating. This one is remarkably nice except for the bearing end cap with FIN NOR logo crossed Marlin and Oar symbol which has lost some of the anodizing. Number H45 on the side below the patent number in the diamond. It operates nicely and the drag is pretty smooth. This reel could be serviced and fished or just owned as a collectible. These reels are known as the Rolls Royce of fishing reels and they earned that title by how ... morewell they have performed through the years. They have been used by some of the greatest big game fishers in history like the Lerners, Kip Farrington, Alfred Glassel, Hemmingway.It has what appears to be 80# greenspot dacron on it. It could use a good cleaning as there is old grease on it, but I have learned that some people do NOT want anything touched, so its your call what you want to do. While it is not in mint/bristol condition.the reserve is also set low to adjust for that and someone can own one of these for a relatively low price. I am not sure if the rod itself is a Tycoon FinNor because I can't find any markings saying so. Just beyond the wrapping is the word"Bravo" on the rod. The rod stands at 6'10" in length. Has 5 Tycoon FinNor Miami roller guides in good shape, and Aftco roller top. The rod butt is an Aftco aluminum butt, stainless steel reel seat, and a foregrip that measures 9 inches and is made of a cloth fur material. It looks to me like the rod is rated from 80-130 LB test. It is a true big game rod, and heavy duty. It has green/yellow wrapping underneath the flexcoat. The rod overall is in good condition for its vintage age. Included in the auction are the Fin-Nor reels in display box. Number#1, 2, and#3. All are right hand wind. Serial Numbers: 3 3-49. 2 2-11. 1 1-24. The reels look absolutely perfect except for some minor rubbing wear from where they sit in their box. This cab be seen in the pictures provided and is more prominent on the number 3 reel.
