Seeker Stealth (STL-8020-CT) Composite Casting Rod
This is a great rod. Seeker makes quality rods for serious fishing and this is no exception. The rod is rated for 15-25lb test but actually fishes better well above its rated class. I used this rod this year offshore to catch yellowtail, tuna, and countless sharks. This rod casts jigs and bait very well, unloads quickly and can really fire some long distance casts. I regularly hit 120yds+ with this rod and a 3oz jig. As mentioned in the condition this rod is not new. It has some cosmetic dings from riding on the boat and the tip guide has a slight bent in the frame, would cost $5 to fix with a better tip to boot. The rod was orignally a cork tape deckhand style rod and i added X-Wrap shrink tubing over the cork to give it a little more durable grip. As the reel was clamped on there is an imprint where the reel was placed and unless you plan ... moreon putting the reel in the same spot you may want to consider new shrink tube for grip. This rod is used. But in very good fishing conditions. It was built and used here in Southern California to catch a lot of tuna, dorado(mahi) and even a couple yellowtail. It is rated 40-100, and I fished it with 60lb mono on a Tyrnos 20. It has the usual scratches from boat rash. It also has a crack in the butt piece of hypalon. Been meaning to fix that. But never bothered since you only hold the front hyp anyway. The guides roll smoothly and have no rough spots that might nick your line. Lots of life left in it. This combo rod AND reel that are in great shape. The rod is a CUSTOM BUILT Seeker 6455 and has AFTCO HD roller guides on it and they're in great condition. The rod is actually black instead of the honey colored one pictured. It has a gimble on the back so you can use it in a fighting chair or stand-up style in a harness. The rod and reel have been well taken care of. The reel is absolutely beautiful and polished. I sent the reel to Shimano to be serviced so it is ready to fish. This combo is perfect as a trolling rig. A shark fishing rig, or big game such as yellowfin tuna or marlin. This can be used for fishing at the"Rocks" for yellowtail on a 10-day, to fishing for cows on a longrange 14-plus day trip. This rod was custom built by George Roth in Dec. 2004. I had just purchased a used Rich Forhan rod which was based on the Seeker 706S which is also a"S" glass blank which many know as the Revolver Rod. George had this cousin to the 706 Seeker blank which he told me about. The 705 he rated at 3/8-3/4 ounce lure; 8-20 pound line; medium heavy power; and mod-fast action. I'm not sure about his ratings but it does have a taper to give it more tip(see photo for taper) It was cut down to 6-8 with a custom fuji split reel seat. Split grip(see photos) hook keeper(left side, see photo) spiral guides(left) Fuji J-frame New Concept S/S alconite guides, super fine cork rings and rubberized cork butt cap. The guide wraps are"Rainbow" Rod cost over $200 in 2004. I'd hate to price it now. It has been used very little. I have ... moreway too many rods and my loss is another's gain. Rod can be used to throw moving lures like crankbaits, buzzbaits or spinnerbaits. Good length for accurate casting and distance too. Custom build gives it less weight and the glass gives it a slow rebound. S glass is superior to E glass in sensitivity and the custom seat allows contact with blank. Thanks for your interest. Premier Fishing Rod Aftco Roller Guides Calstar Sabre Penn Seeker 50-130 Class
This rod has 5 AFTCO roller guides and an AFTCO roller tip. It is made by Premier. I do not know what the blank is. It could be Calstar. Seeker, Sabre or Penn. I have tested it and it can hold up to ANYTHING! It has GREAT action and it looks HOT! The gold anodized reel seat really sets it up beautifully. The seat is meaty so a small real with rod clamps will not fit on this stick. An Penn International 16 does not fit. My 30's, 50's, and 70's work great! I have a set of 4. I am planning on selling them independently but if you want them all let me know. I cannot see any sign of use. Everything is MINT. This is a great opportunity to get a great rod at a great price. This rod is perfect for saltwater bottom fish like cod. Haddock and pollock. EVA grips are extremely durable. The guides appear to be SiC boat guides. SiC are the best ceramic rings and work extremely well with braided lines. They do not chip. They dissipate heat well. They are extremely hard and are low friction. This is an awesome fishing rod for the price. This rod was custom made and sold to me on ebay. I purchase this rod about five years ago.
