Derived from the native Indian word meaning "shimmering waters", Shuswap is situated on the shore of Lake Nipissing beautiful West Bay. The deep blue, crystal clear waters will leave you breathless and the hospitality and service you'll receive will leave you relaxed and truly satisfied. We are a three season vacation destination offering activities for the sportsman, family, vacationer, nature buff and true recreationalist. This year come to Shuswap for the vacation of a lifetime. THERE'S MORE TO SHUSWAP THAN FISHINGSo many times a family will arrive at a resort to find that fishing is the only thing to do. Well there's fishing at Shuswap and lots of it, but there's also a multitude of other activities for the whole family to enjoy. During the day everyone can rent one of our boats and explore the hundreds of islands and miles of beautiful shoreline. For a quieter excursion take out a paddleboat or canoe and traverse the waters around the camp. Sunbathe on our large spacious deck while watching people enjoying the Westbay waterway waterskiing, seadooing, kneeboarding, swimming etc. If land based activities are your fancy take a walk through the woods of our area hunting for berries, pinecones, leaves, rocks and bird watching. Enjoy a game of horseshoes or spend time playing pool in our games room, or just relax in the lounge with it's large fireplace. 15 minute drive to local golf course. Get birds eye view of the waterways with a sightseeing flight in a classic de Havilland Beaver. DINING AT SHUSWAP Shuswap ensures that the entire family gets a relaxing holiday, even mom who can stay out of the kitchen and enjoy the home cooked meals from our extensive menu in the licensed dining room which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We offer daily specials. During the summer on Sundays sink your teeth into some juicy prime rib and enjoy our specialty salad bar. Our dining area seats 60 people and offers some excellent Canadian cuisine. We do recommend that you ensure seating through advance reservations, both the dining room and patio are licensed so you can stroll outside and enjoy the magnificent sunsets. We offer an American Plan on request however the Housekeeping guests who prefer to cook their own meals can do so in the fully equipped cottages.

Hunting in our area feature a variety of game including deer, moose, partridge and duck. Old township roads have proven to be great when it comes to partridge hunting. Numerous marshy ... morebays are prevalent in the area and make duck hunting easily accessible.

For years the waters of Lake Nipissing have provided anglers with hours of challenge and enjoyment. The nature of the waterways in our area with miles of weed beds, rocky shoals and ... moredrop offs prove to be a haven for the 40 various species of fish.
Whether you're child is happy angling for perch or other panfish, or an avid angler battling the mighty musky of Northern Ontario we're sure you'll leave greatly satisfied. The water of our area contain such species as walleye (yellow pickerel), blue pickerel, sauger, musky, northern pike, small and largemouth bass, garpike, whitefish, perch and numerous pan fish etc.
That special spot is not that far away and will provide hours of fishing satisfaction not to mention the fabulous taste of outdoor cooking whether at one of the numerous shoreline sites or right back at your cottage fire pit.

All of our cottages feature wood decks overlooking the water. Some of our cottages are tucked away atop a hill overlooking the blue waters of Lake Nipissing. Stairways built into the hills take you to these private cottages. Seven newly and completely renovated cottages have all the comforts of home with spectacular views from large decks directly on lake front.
These cottages also feature new appliances, microwaves, coffee makers, VCR, DVD and Satellite TV small to large groups, couples or families, we look forward to making your stay at Shuswap Camp very enjoyable.
