Direct from My Grandfather's ancient tackle box here is a very nice assortment of Fly fishing flies and 2 reels. There are right around 50 flies. Now. I don't know anything about the diferent kinds of flies, or if he made these himself or bought them, but they're all tiny and different. They come in an old small film cannister. You also get 2 reels. They both have line in them, but I can't vouch for if they work or not, though I don't think he would have kept them if they didn't work. The blue one is a Martin, automatic Mohawk 8A, the slightly rusty metal colored one is a Pflueger( No. 775 with a bulldog ingrained on it.

But I wouldn't fish with it-it is in only fair mechanical condition: the clicker is weak, and there's a catch in the action when one turns the spool. The second reel is a South Bend Bait Co. St. Joe no. 1170; it has some surface rust(which will clean up, if you are that industrious) but it is in excellent mechanical condition, with a strong clicker in both directions. There is a little cosmetic wear on the rod blanks(a few small scuffs here and there. But nothing remotely structural) and some cosmetic wear on the reel seat(pictured) All of the Fenwick decals are intact. It is rated for an AFTMA 8 weight line(or weight forward line) It has a total of 10 guides. Hook keeper and a tip top eye. This is a collection of 12 old Orvis plastic boxes and approximately 7 dozen flies. The boxes measure approximately 2 inches across by 1 3/4 inch from front to back and 3/4 inch deep. The boxes all open and close correctly although one box has a part of the rear hinge broken. I'm not positive if the flies are from Orvis. I bought these a few years ago from the estate of a fly fisherman. He seemed to have almost strictly fished Orvis products. The waders. Boots, rods reels, tackle bags, lines, leaders, zingers etc. were all Orvis. I would think the boxes are from the 70's to mid 80's as the other products dated from that time. VINTAGE FISHING REELS, FLIES, ETC. 1940s & 1950s
Up for auction are 3 vintage fishing reels and an assortment of flies. Hooks, floats, and rigs from the 1940s and 1950s. These belonged to my father-in-law who was an avid fisherman in Northwest Arkansas back in the day. The three fishing reels(2 boat reels and 1 fly fishing reel) are all in good shape with just a little bit of surface rust. The boat reels are: 1) Langley Streamlite, Model 310 KB" and(2) Kalamazoo Tackle Co. Bal Cl1, 23 Thumbless, Model B" The fly fishing reel is a"Shakespeare Silent Tru Art, Intrinsic Automatic, Model 6A# 1845. It comes with its original box which for some reason had holes punched in it! Outside of that it is in nice shape, orange and blue in color. The green color on the fly fishing reel is still good with a few scratches. The colors and condition of the flies are in overall good shape with ... morelittle fading and discoloration. The hooks and rigs are rusted, but they should be able to clean up easily. Also included in a vintage leather case and a plastic compartmentalized case for the flies. These are both in nice shape.
