This is a very nice old tackle box made by the Union Steel Chest Corporation of Leroy. N.Y. It measures 13-1/4 inches wide, 5-1/2 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches front to back. It has a metal handle on top and is painted a deep blue. The paint is in very good condition with very few scratches and scrapes. I've taken pictures from every angle so that you can judge condition for yourself. The box closes with a flip latch that has a ring for a lock. As you can see it has had some good use! Up for auction is this vintage(antique? My Buddy TACKLEMASTER Steel Tackle Storage Box. It has a really pretty blue finish(yes I'm a girl) and the original My Buddy TACKLEMASTER with a picture of a fish. Still on the lid-in AMAZING CONDITION(the sticker) The handle is in EXCELLENT condition, looks like BAKELITE to me but I am not positive? Handle is attached with brass facets& they are solid and secure. It has some slight rust patches on the outside, and inside, see the pictures.The bottom also has rust along the perimeter of the raised base, no rust(holes) goes through the steel. The bottom also has rubber disks to raise it up, one is completely worn off, two others are somewhat worn. 3 others are somewhat worn but intact. these could easily be replaced I think as they appear to be just simple ... morerubber disks.When the lid is open, two compartmented shelves on each side also open simultaneously and there is more storage in the bottom.The shelf hinges are in very good working condition, secure. THERE IS A WORKING LOCK AND A KEY! The previous owners name is taped on the inside lid but can be removed, as it is that type on kind of tape. All the hinges, lid, closures, etc are in very good working condition, solid& stable. I don't see any dents at all. It comes with 2 original keys and the original advertising paper that had the price on it. The box is 15" wide. 8" front to back, and about 8" high not including the handle. The two tiers of compartments are aluminum. The lock on the front is brass. The keys are steel. This comes from the inside of the paper: This new UNION Tackle Box is made of 40% FIBERGLASS reinforced polyester. The color is permenantly[sic] molded in. Offered for auction is this Vintage Tackle Box. It is made entirely of Galvanized Steel. Has 3 latches which I believe are brass. Has a heavy duty handle- looks like it could be Bakelite or just a thick. Dark plastic. Has 2 trays also made of galvanized steel inside. Can't find any name or markings on the box. No paint remnants inside or out. So don't know if it was ever painted. Measures about 15 x 7 x 7 inches. Good condition. Very sound. Latches work fine. Estate Sale Find- exact age unknown. The tackle box measures about 18 1/2" by 7 1/2" by 7" tall. This two metal trays on the inside; the top tray has 7-2 1/2" compartments and the 2nd tray has 2-2 1/2" compartments and one 12 1/4" This has a ring mounted to the front to rest your fishing rod in. Vintage 1966 Union Steel Chest Fishing Tackle Box-Spill Proof Latch - Model 5419
This is a vintage metal tackle box- marked Union Steel Chest Corp. Leroy, NY, Made in USA, Pat. No. 161530. Original tag says Model No. 5419. There is another tag with the date 17 Jun 66 written on it. This is a very nice, classic, vintage piece. It has been used and shows the scuffs and wear from over 40 years of fishing trips. But it still has lots of use left it in. Please examine the pictures closely for best idea of condition. Nice, solid tackle box. It has a Spill Proof latch that helps insure that even if the latch hasn't been locked, as long as the lid is fully closed, you can still lift it without spilling. A very valuable addition to make sure all of your tackle stays in the box. LOTS of storage room. Large lower area and two trays that fold out with the lid. Total of 15 different compartments in the two trays. Box is 19" ... morelong, 7" wide and 7 1/2" high. Sturdy plastic handle. Very nice find. Save on shipping if you purchase more than one item! Vintage Old Pal Steel Lure Tackle Box Blue, 2 Trays/Drawers, Decorative Handle
This is pretty dirty. Inside and out, and rusty. There are 2 trays that open easily when the lid is opened. The latches work but are a little tricky- you have to make sure it is lined up right before it will close properly. The box is empty and it has a neat decorative handle. It measure approx. 18.5" long. 7" high, and 7" wide. Most of our items are from estate sales so we do not know all the history/ usage of our listed items.
