Inside of possum belly bottom section is stained with what looks and feels like brown paint, no cracks or chips. Inside of box, trays on the five shelf side are in near MINT condition but are dusty. Two of the compartments on the 4 shelve side have worm burns that are on the surface only, not deep or large. Other trays on the 4 shelf side are in EXCELLENT to MINT- condition. Bottom on the inside of box is dusty, no chips or cracks of any kind. Overall this box is in great shape. I tend to overpack my boxes. They end up being large and well protected. Recently my husband and I inherited some items from his elderly uncle who passed away. This box was among those items. It is a green plastic marble design box marked Plano Plas-Tak. Plano, Illinois. I am guessing it is from the 50's. There are no major defects on the box except for light scratching on the bottom and it needs a good cleaning on the outside and inside. Brass colored locking mechanism works fine. Inside it is full of fishing stuff, old lures, hooks, a bobber, split-shot(whatever that is) and various other items. We really didn't look through it or take anything out of it-just not our cup of tea. Perhaps someone out there would find some use for it. This is a vintage item, and may show signs of wear or use. The lock closes very nicely. It sometimes sticks a little. But then I have lady hands. You are probably tougher than I am. There is a twelve inch measure along the front top of the box so you are sure you are over that seven inch limit. Or whatever it is. The hinges are good and move smoothly. Corners are good. Not all bent up. It looks like this might at one time have had a tray. As there are two places on the inside of the lid where a tray might have hung. Vintage UMCO 1000RS green tackle box. The exterior shell is in very good condition and the latches are solid. The interior has 7 trays with 70 compartments plus a full basement for reels and things. Some of the black liners compartments have suffered worm burns and are dirty in need of a good cleaning. The 48 small compartments are dirty but in good shape. The burns are in the larger compartments where plastic worms were kept. This would be a nice tackle box to restore or line the compartments with green felt to display some of your vintage wood lures. Huge Vintage Antique Metal Tackle Box- Extra Large Army Green in Good Cond.
You are bidding on a HUGE Vintage Antique Metal Tackle Box. This army green thing is huge as you can get a little perspective from the picture I took with a modern standard size tackle box. Measurements are 21" long. 8.5" wide, and about 9.5" high. All of the snaps work just fine, although sometimes you have to hold your mouth right to get all three holes lined up. Seriously though, after opening and shutting it a couple of times you kind of get the hang of it. This tackle box, while vintage, is not perfect, it is missing some paint here and there, it has a two- tone paint job on one end, and a small dent(pictured) on one corner. As you can see, the little compartments inside are lined with cork, and the entire inside is quite spacious. This is certainly a rare find. Great for the collector.
