This is a very nice old tackle box made by the Union Steel Chest Corporation of Leroy. N.Y. It measures 13-1/4 inches wide, 5-1/2 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches front to back. It has a metal handle on top and is painted a deep blue. The paint is in very good condition with very few scratches and scrapes. I've taken pictures from every angle so that you can judge condition for yourself. The box closes with a flip latch that has a ring for a lock. This is a Vintage Old Pal One Tray Solid Steel Blue Color Tackle Box in nice condition. I had one just like it when I was a kid and I'm retired now. So probably at least 50 years old. Opens from the front with eight stationary compartments, with plenty of room in the bottom. The tray is nearly perfect in condition. Closes tight and secure with the original steel latch. The handle is high impact plastic with the very sought after lure inlay. It does have some minor spots and scuffs. But no dents and the inside looks great. Very solidly constructed. Dimensions of box are 6 1/2 in. X 4 1/2 in. X 14 in. You won't find this tackle box in any store. I cannot stress how solid this box is. Take a look at the pictures and decide. Closes tight and secure with original latch. The handle is high impact white plastic and very clean. The sticker has"Union 5 Year Guarantee" on it and there is an imprinted serial number. The box does have some scuffs and scratches on the bottom mostly. The trays are overall clean with some minor stains. No worm burns or cracks. Very solidly constructed. Dimensions of box are 7 in. VINTAGE 1950s 16" BLUE FIBERGLASS TACKLE BOX Ocean City Reels? Fishing Crafts
Up for auction is a vintage 1950s fiberglass tackle box. It has two trays with a total of 6 adjustable dividers. The box measures approximately 16" long. 6.75" tall, and 7" wide. It's pretty light-a little over 3 pounds. I couldn't find any manufacturer's mark on it, but I found another just like it that was apparently made by Ocean City Reels. It is in fairly good vintage condition. With some wear to the surface. No holes or cracks other than a small(1/2" area on the corner of one of the shelves where it is damaged. It has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out-no gunk, no odors although there are a few stains. There is oxidation on the metal, and there is no key.
