VINTAGE UMCO 3000 GIANT TACKLE BOX POSSUM BELLY Rare hard to find COLLECTIBLE
This auction is for a used Vintage UMCO 3000 UPB POSSUM BELLY TACKLE BOX. This is a HUGH Tackle Box. Approximately 18 inches tall x 12 inches wide x 20 inches long. There are 8 trays with a total of 64 compartments that vary in size and shape. 4 of the 64 compartments have worm burn spot but still function fine. On the top by the handle is says UMCO 3000 UPB Watertown, MN. USA. There are no cracks or holes in the plastic, the hinges and handle works fine, There is a 1/4" bumper between the two bellies. The bumper has a thick foam behind brass cover. The bumper is wavy, could be improved with some adhesive if you want but still functions fine. The Green color has held up very well, does not look like its seen much sun. Wow. This is a very unusual piece! A must have for the die hard tackle collector. It is a very early brass tackle box believed to be from the 20s but can not be verified. Very good chance this was a one off. 14" long x 3 1/2" diameter. It opens into two pieces but stays together because of the very orate hinges. The push in lure foam shows signs of use but is still functional. VINTAGE FRENCH FISHING TACKLE BOX ..... VERY RARE & UNIQUE
Up for auction is this very rare. Extremely unique and fabulous tackle box from France. Although it came from France, the country of origin is unclear, possibly UK? I have searched extensively for similar items, but have not been able to find anything close to this very unique piece. This box measures approximately 18" tall, 10" x 14" at the base. It appears to be from the late 40's or early 50's, based on the inventory of the box. The inventory pictured came with it and consists of numerous float winders, some are hand made of wood and some are made of what appears to be celluloid. Also, there are numerous quill bobbers, 2 French fishing reels, spools of leader, and loads of hook and leader combos, tools plus much more! Most all of the packages and wrappings are in French. There are five different compartments, and ... morea handy shoulder strap. It's obvious that some of the dividers were added somewhere along the way as they clearly are not original to the piece. Adds a nice homespun, folk art, country fisherman feel to it. This kit needed a little TLC. Which I was happy to provide. I performed the following maintenance with stabilization in mind, not a restoration. All of the hinges were replaced as they were corroded, rusty and broken, the stay chain was replaced as it was broken and there were missing links, I gave it a once over with Howard's inside and out. Repairs and adjustments were made to some of the latches and to the side hinge stops as well. The vinyl seat is original to the piece and is in excellent like new condition, feet were added as the originals were missing. One of the contents is an auto repair receipt from Paris, 1973, from a Citroen dealership. It's a very cool and extremely rare piece. Fully equipped and ready to fish! Inside is in excellent condition. No worm burns on any of the trays. There does appear to have been a sticker or something on the outside top and there is some residue from it. Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE On offer is this unusual all metal fishing tackle box with an Art Deco image of a Marlin. Lettering and text that reads Tackle Box. The mixed contents are also on offer as they came with the box. The box is compact in size and has a long leather strap. It has an unusual way of being opened. First the lid is lifted and then the front panel folds out in order to reveal the interior. The interior has a top shelf that is designed to hold 5 cylinder shaped containers. These containers are plastic and have black Bakelite lids. Under the shelf there is a section that can house whatever needs to be stored. The vintage contents of the box include ... morethe following: Lead weights/ shot in assorted shapes and sizes with original shot cloth bag. Fishing hooks. Rubber like round floats. Old corks. Old newspaper cut out with information on fishing. Printed booklet. The booklet is“The Anglers’ Handbook 1971-72 by The Victorian Piscatorial Association. Though the book dates to the early seventies– I think that the box is much. Much older than that. Judging by the style of image on the front of the box and the design of the box itself including the leather strap– it looks to be from about the late 1940’s– 50’s. CONDITION The box itself is in structurally very good order. There are no splits. Dings, etc. The clear plastic containers with the Bakelite lids are also in good order and they too are free from splits. Cracks, etc. The catch on the box works well and is in good functioning order The leather strap has life left in it and is fine. The vintage contents of the box appear to be fine as well. You are viewing a rare bright green tackle box made by Sterling in 1966. This box is made of an early plastic material and is light-weight. Durable and easy to transport. It is in great shape for its age with only some slight scuffing on bottom. There is a space for a nameplate to be put on top of lid just below handle. The bottom reads, Sterling Sp NO-275, MADE IN U.S.A. C. 1966. I have never seen another quite like this. Dimensions are: 11 inches wide, 4 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches deep. Only marking is on the side which reads. Davis Trade Mark Los Angeles. Has a strange tray system that as you can see unfolds to lay flat out on the table. Box measures. 15" wide 7 1/2 inches tall. VERY RARE Vintage MASCOT Kennedy Kits CO 155 AL Aluminum 3 Tray Tackle Tool Box
I am very reluctant to sell this tackle box. I have 2 inherited tackle boxes from this time period. Full of old wooden lures. This box would be a perfect addition to store them in. but I cannot keep everything I like. This tackle box is in excellent condition. It has no dents or cracks. It is made of aluminum therefore light for it's size. This was the advertised benefits used in the 1950's ad campaigns. I am going to include some ads I found online. So the image quality is not the best but it shows the tackle box as it was advertised in 1959. This tackle box seems identical to the"Pelican" but this is the"Mascot" I believe the difference is the aluminum versus steel. But I am not an expert on anything. unless I am arguing with my wife. Then I am an expert on all things known to man. I put pictures of the 2 ads ... morehere in this ad for you to look at. I also had a free thinking moment, and wanted to see what $10(original cost) in 1959 would be in 2014. I was amazed that it was $80! I had to take a pic of that as well. So buying this box in 1959 for $10 was not a trivial expense. in my humble opinion. These tackle boxes came in 4 models. 2 and 3 tray models. In 15 and 19 inch widths. This is the 15 inch 3 tray model. The number in the lid is CO 155AL. You will see ads for the CO 155s, the AL added must be the aluminum build. another opinion of mine. 2 trays open back when the lid is opened and the top tray is manually opened back to expose the middle tray. The box has not dents. The inner trays are excellent, the plastic compartments are also excellent. While I had so much free time on my hands last night. I wondered what the"Kits" meant in the"Kennedy Kits" This was a tackle box, not for kits. Sooo, I began a 4 hour quest to find the answer. I found a forum where they discussed this topic. This sale is for a vintage Rebel Bass'n Box fishing tackle box filled with vintage lures. Some of the brand names on the lures are Fred Arbogast. True Temper, Sputterfuss, Krocodile, Gapen's, Dardevle, Red Eye Wiggler, Flash Bait, Johnson Silver Minnow, and Vibratron. Many of these items have tarnish or rust, but a Rebel Tackle Box of any kind is extremely rare and so are many of the lures. Vintage / Rare Simonson Aluminum Fishing Tacklebox L@@K!
Up for your consideration is a vintage Simonsen Aluminum tackle box. Box is in very nice vintage condition. Box functions perfectly the latches and hinges work without issues. No large dents, no holes, a bit of wearing from use but still very nice. It does need cleaning. I did wipe it down and took all the metal pieces and cork bottom and put them in center. The cork inserts could be replaced with new ones. A very nice tackle box. Like the way it opens and it is not super heavy. I want to say it is from the 40- 50's. But not for sure. This is a nice size of approx 12-1/4 long x 7-1/4 wide x 4-1/4 tall This Tackle Box has the Bakelite or Marbleized look to it. I am not positive of what it is actually made of. I do know that this is pretty old and hard to find. This has a spot where it looks like burn marks on the top left side but it actually blends in fairly well. please see the pictures.
