Two Bass? or Perch? Taxidermy Mounted on Old Piece of Driftwood
What we have here is a pair of evenly matched bass? I'm not a fish expert) professionally stuffed and mounted on an old piece of driftwood. I'm guessing the grain of the driftwood has been deeply sculpted by the action of the waves and the board measures 17 ½" vertically. The(slightly) larger topmost fish measures 10¼" long. The total piece is a very nice size to hang in regular size rooms. I would not hang it over a large fireplace in your Canadian lodge retreat. A fellow Ebayer has advised these are perch. Not bass? For your consideration is a vintage 3 foot long Wisconsin Northern Pike. It was so large. I had trouble getting a decent picture of it all in one piece. It's body is about 16" in circumference. It is 5 1/2" high vertically. It's bottom jaw measures 4 1/2" and the top 4" It has lots of scary teeth. It is in beautiful condition. And is very impressive in size. I had to snap pictures on the patio bench. The only flaw I could see was some minor flaking of color inside the mouth. The end of the piece of driftwood has a glue spot. Perhaps someone's name was attached there. There is a silver hanger on the back. The fish is mounted on the driftwood and is moveable. So as to angle him in the way you wish. For sale is a Walleye mount that has been on the wall for many years. It was old even before i bought it! It is a real fish that has been mounted. Not one of the fiberglass ones of today. The walleye is about 19 inches from nose to tail. It is mounted by a peg sticking out of the driftwood. The driftwood also had a hanger on the back for mounting to a wall. The driftwood is a hefty piece weighing in at 3 pounds and a half pounds! The condition of this piece overall is pretty good. 21.5" Largemouth Bass Fish Taxidermy Real Skin Driftwood Mount-9lb. Missouri
Here`s a largemouth bass my ex caught in a private lake back around 2004 or so. I think it weighed 9lbs. give or take a few ounces. He had several from 8-10 lbs. This is one of a few I have left. It was done by Wildlife Creations in Fulton Mo. and cost me over $ 300.00 at the time. It measures about 21-1/2in. long with a steel tape and has about 17-3/4 inches of girth. HUGE 29 inch Professional Taxidermy Walleye Fish Skin Mount on Driftwood
For your consideration is a beautiful professionally taxidermy skin mount walleye mount on a large piece of driftwood.This is a recent estate sale purchase from the home of an avid sportsman so we do not know what waters the fish was caught in. It is a nicely colored specimen with rich gold and greens. It is also a very thick fish as you can see from a photo showing the belly. It was difficult to capture the girth because it is mounted in a curved fashion. We measured it from the front with a soft tape measure running the tape from the bottom jaw running below the pectoral fin and rotating it slightly upwards to the bottom of the tail fin;thus following the curvature. It has mounting hooks on the back of the wood. It looks to be in very good condition as seen from the eyes of a novice to taxidermy fish etc. but it will need to be dusted a ... morebit. For your consideration is this Fantastic Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy Mount. He was caught in Lake George. NY. The fisherman who caught it is moving across country, and his wife said NO to taking his trophy fish with them. He had all of them professionally mounted within the last 5 years, so it's fairly new. This big fish measures 18" and his body is curved. So he probably measured 19-20" before mounting. He has eyes on both sides of the head. He's on a really nice 19" driftwood mount with pieces that extrude out from the main log. There is a metal hanger in place on the back of the wood. I did notice his pectoral fin is bent. And a slight bend in one corner of his tail. This can probably be straightened with something, but I don't know what to use. For sale I have a real fish taxidermy mount. Both bluegills are right at 12" long. They are mounted on driftwood. There is a hanger on the back of the driftwood. They are attached to the back of the driftwood with screws. I think it would be safer to take them off the driftwood. And pack them separately.
