Here's a rare and Exquisit Vintage Antique Pre-1900 Fly Fishing Reel(made of wood + brass + horn) it has a click drag which is engaged/disengaged by the brass button on the back. All gears and drag working parts are made of brass. Reel handles are made of some type of horn with brass fittings. brass button on front is to remove spool from seat. The spool and the back of the reel seat are made of unknown hardwood with some light grooves engraved into them. The back of the spool and the reel seat have some machined tin or aluminum so that dirt doesn't enter the drag assembly. Reel has no indication of manufacturer Working condition is excellent. Click drag works great- you could take this out and fish with it immediately. Spool spins freely on spindle when drag is removed. Note: one tooth is broken on the drag gear, see photos- doesn't ... moreeffect operation. Visual condition is excellent. Shows no sign of wear, except where your finger nail would rub next to the handle and wood has a scratch or two and neither are really even worth mentioning. Finish is still glossy and no bare spots- may have been just lacquered and not stained. Reel foot shows no sign of wear. Rare Antique Child Size Wicker Fishing Creel 6" Tall Original Finish No Reserve

Outstanding and rare antique child sized wicker fishing creel is in excellent plus condition. It measures 4" x 7 3/4" across the base and 4" x 6 1/2" across the hinged top x 6" tall at highest. It still retains it's original carved wood locking pin. The hinges were re-done long ago with wire as I am guessing that it had wicker hinges. It has small 3/4" high strap slots in the back. I only found one piece of wicker broken on the inside back but no piece of it missing. The loops for the lock pin are not connected to each other inside but I do not believe it is broken. Just the end of continous loop. Has a neat pattern woven into the front that may help someone determine ... morewho and when it was made. Looks like mostly original finish to it. No mold or mildew or rot, very clean. I left the tuft on the front as it has been there for many years. Please feel free to ask questions in case I did not give enough info. This auction is for a Antique fishing fish keeper basket. Or Possibly a large bait trap/keeper. It is unmarked as far as I can tell. The top is a galvanized non rusting metal of some sort& netting. It is 24" in total length. The largest diameter ring is 12" The netting is in very good shape, no holes that I see. The top has some use wear but is generally in nice shape. The net has two small round weights secured onto the bottom. The top latch still works well. A really Neat fishing item. Buyer gets these as seen and described. Old wooden cedar fishing reel with brass starback with green bakelite handles. The reel is in beautiful original condition and looks as if it has had little or no use. The Australian cedar woodwork is in excellent condition and has beautiful colour. Two lots of two very small holes have been drilled in the spool as per photos. The purpose of these holes I have no idea! The spool detaches easily when the knurled nut is rotated slightly- a form of Slater's latch- I hope I have that right.
