It was published by the Tokyo National Museum in 2008 as part of their exhibition of Japanese metal articulated creatures. Animals, insects, and crustaceans that were made from the Edo era(1603 to 1868) through the Meiji era(1868 to 1912) During this time of peace in Japan. This is a nice old porcelain souvenir pitcher from Atlantic City. New Jersey. It is shaped like a curled up lobster, It measures 3&1/8" tall by 3&1/8" wide by1&3/4" deep and is in good condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.There are a few manufacturing flaws, including a rough area along the edge of the mouth of the pitcher, but it is under the glaze and obviously in the making.Also a little paint loss.
