Vintage 1961 Big Game Fishing Trophy of Marlin Bill Hawaii Rare
Up for auction is a Beautiful and Rare 1961 Striped Marlin mounted bill. This was given to me by an old friend who actually caught this Marlin off Honolulu Hawaii Oct 21 1961. This Fish weighed 206 Lbs and the Bill was mounted. The Bill measures 14 1/2" and is all Black. The sides are rough just like a true Billfish and can be seen in the pictures. The Bill sits on a wood Board that is 17 3/8" long by 1" thick. The plaque on thw bottom read"Striped Marlin 206lbs Honolulu Hawaii 21 Oct 1961. This is truly a piece of History that cannot be found and from an era where Billfish were killed. This would make a great addition to anyones collection or game room. Your looking at a scarce taxidermy of a Large Deep Sea Bass caught in 1910 off of the Eastern Coast of Florida weighed 312 Lbs when caught over 100 years old. It was caught by my Great Grandfather. No reproduction. No fake, authentic, it's in great condition for it's age. They used a old reflector for the eye back then, and the back is pieces of wood/crate. I'm sure there are very very few still around. Would be a great addition to a serious collection. If you have any questions or need a different pic, please feel free to ask. Here's a great original Antique 1900 V i ntage Nash of Maine Large Yellow Perch Fish Taxidermy Mount. This Mount measures 12" tall and 2 1" wide. And 3" thick. With t he large Perch being 15" long! Please see photos for condition. John Waldo Nash was an expert Norway taxidermist. Famed as the originator of a unique way to stuff and permanently preserve fish for display. In the early 1890's, Nash operated a two-floor workshop, located on Temple St. where the Norway Masonic Temple now stands. He employed four assistants and at least eight agents all over Maine. He was also the official taxidermist for the Grand Trunk Railway system, helping promote train travel for sportsmen. Nash invented and patented"Trout Mezzo" a way to stuff and mount fish.
