Vintage 18" Mounted Small Mouth Bass Real Fish Taxidermy
Today. I have for auction, a mounted, taxidermied 18" vintage small mouth bass. It is in nice condition except for a few flaws. The bottom fin has a crease line, and I am not sure if there is a missing tip. There is another crease on the bottom back fin, and one of the fins facing the back on the bottom has a bend and a broken off tip. All flaws are pictured. Please see photos for condition. Approximate measurements are as follows: 18" long x 8" tall x 7 1/2" deep. The Bass is mounted to a plaque with 2 screws. The plaque will be removed for shipping and the bass will be attached to a larger piece of wood for shipping. This Large Mouth Bass will look great hanging on the wall! This is an old large mouth bass. The lady that owned said her husband caught it. She didn't say where or how much it weighed at the time. Only that she didn't want it anymore because it didn't match her decor. It measures 20" It is not mounted on anything. It looks like they hung it from the hole on the back of the fish. There is a hole on the back of the fish) The tail has a small crack. You can see it in the picture. It looks like an easy fix or you could leave it there. Nice vintage large-mouth bass caught in Alabama fresh water. I received this from a good friend who's step-dad fished tournaments. This received a little damage to the rear fin and right side and right bottom front fins were chewed by an animal unfortunately. So it visually was un-pleasing, I trimmed and removed. I cleaned it up and there it hangs, lightly touched up with crayola marker after the move and selling my other center piece. I lightly moistened a rag with water, wiped it down and dried for inspection and listing. Just another great man cave piece that tells a story at first glance! Caught in the 80's from local Alabama lake. 22+ inches, was over 8lbs, mounted and hung on the wall for years. At this point I don't have a place and I hope someone else does. VINTAGE Real Skin Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy 21" Chestnut Wood Wall Mount For sale is a VINTAGE Real Skin Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy 21" Chestnut Wood Wall Mount. This Bass was caught and mounted in 1980 by a local fisherman friend at Lake Hickory. North Carolina. The bass is 21" long and 11" wide(including fins) The mount is chestnut wood and is 22" long by 5.5" wide. Mount sets 8.5" off the wall. My friend passed recently and his wife is parting with some of his"treasured" collection. This mount is in good vintage condition, the fins are rough on the edges but it is overall very nice. Small cracks around bottom fins(see photos) but they aren't broken. There are some beautiful colors here as you can see in the photos. Small hook on the back for hanging vertically(head pointing upward) or add ... moreanother hook to hang anyway you like. Please examine the photos carefully. Wonderful Vintage Large Mouth Bass Mount. In used vintage condition. Looks to be very old. Needs some work and TLC but is very cool. Has some rips where the stuffing is coming out. Has wear and tear from age. Mounted on a piece of wood. Would look terrific in a cabin or hunting lodge. Nice large size. Very fat and feisty. I bet this guy really put up a fight before being caught and hauled in. Fish alone measures about 24 inches long by about 10 inches wide by about 7 inches deep. Could be antique but not sure of age.
