This is a used Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5600C4 baitcasting reel. The C4 means that it has four bearings. The reel is in fantastic condition as you can see from the pictures. There are just a very few small nicks. I have tested the reel on the bench and everything appears to funtion correctly. It cranks smooth. The spool spins freely, and the drag feels strong. This baitcaster works very well. It has a smooth foot with serial# 518053. This reel has not been altered. By it's characteristics it appears to be of later 1960's vintage. The leather case exterior is very good plus. It has no scuffs, scratches or discoloration& the stitching is 100% The inside lining has a few minor stains& a few wrinkles. These 3 reels are all used but in good working order. All functions perform as they should and are absolutely ready to fish once you add line to them. The newest one is an Ambassadeur 5000 I believe. The label has worn off that showed the model number. The older black reel is an Ambassadeur 5000c with a replacement power handle with the red knobs. The Diawa Millionaire 5HS has a black power handle that I think is an aftermarket handle. These are not"display" reels but they are perfect for dependable fishing reels. The reel has been lightly used and there are a few nicks on the rims(see pictures) The reel does not show any corrosion and works perfectly mechanically. The reel has the typical dark-red color of the earliest Ambassadeur reels. The MODEL SG reels do not have a number on the reel foot and come with all-grey spool and starwheel brake. The MODEL SG is one of the earliest versions of the Ambassadeur reel and the initial deliveries were made late in 1952. The reel then made it's"official" debut in the 1953"Napp o Nytt" ABU's Swedish catalogue. You are bidding on a classic ABU Ambassadeur 5000 vintage reel. This was my Grandfather's and recently came across it while cleaning the basement. I am not a fisherman. Although it appears to be in excellent condition. The auction includes: Reel(4 screw with# 450545) leather case, owners manual, spare parts, oil container, and a small wrench. Not sure on the exact age, although based on a little research and the case(brass latch and crest) it is probably from the 1960's. I am confident that reel has not been used since the 1970's. I have not tested anything, with the excpetion of some quick back and forth, but seems very smooth. The interior lining of the case is beginning to seperate from the case itself. Hello you are bidding on a lot of two different Abu Ambassaduer baitcasting reels. Both the reel work fine but both are missing end cap for the middle of the handle and one may not have the correct screw(the small handled reel) The small handle reel. The handle wobbles and is not on tight so it may not be the correct screw. Both reels are used and have wear on them, both are made in Sweden and I they are also accompanied with a small box with some parts, I am not sure if they go to the reels but I am including it. Very Rare Ambassadeur 5000 Four Screw Reel Without Record or ABU Marking
As the markings on the tailplate of the Ambassadeur 5000 reel were transitioning from"Record Ambassadeur" to"ABU Ambassadeur" For a short period of time a small number of reels were marked only"Ambassadeur" See the last picture) What is most interesting about this particular reel is its serial number. If you have read Simon Shimomura's book entitled The Ambassadeur and I. At the time of his writing it, the smallest serial number known on a reel without a Record or ABU marking was 69331.Page 134 of his book) The serial number of this reel is smaller. 69245. See picture two) I'm aware that least one other reel with a smaller number has been discovered. This reel has rash on both rims and surface scratches on the endplates and handle. Vintage ABU Ambassadeur 5000 for parts or repair (Sweden) -- 027200
This is a used Vintage Red ABU Ambassadeur 5000 fishing reel for parts or possible repair. This was a barn find at my grandfather's this past summer. It was on an old rod. I tied a medium sized washer to the end of the line to test it. It would cast. But not cleanly and smoothly. When I reeled it in. The mechanism that slides back and forth would catch on the one side. As seen in the pictures. It is scratched a bit. Form the looks of it, the'handle' is bent too. The number stamped on the chrome piece that attached to the rod is 027200. I'm a casual fisherman. I have no idea if these reel is salvageable or if it's truly a parts reel.

Nice. Clean Abu Ambassadeur 5000 D baitcast reel in the hard to come by gold color. I believe the correct serial# is 741100. The first two numbers are hard to make out because the imprint is light. Everything seems to work properly. There are some scratches and light wear. The handle has a slight bend in it. Should be able to straighten it easy enough. Will leave that up to new owner.
