1924 STREICH'S FLEX - O - MINO BOX WITH GLASS EYE R/W LURE BODY
Here is a real old Streich's Flex-O-Mino made in Joliet.Illinois first patented in 1924 which is dated on the box. The box is solid EX- with no tears and still good coloring for its age. No tears and minor dirt. The weighted head lure with glass eyes is in poor shape. The single hook is well rusted and very fragile and will eventually break apart. There is a piece of the original rubber body that had hardened which is common with these lures due to their age. Great patina. Most likely your buying for the box. Any white on the pics is a reflection from the camera flash. Shipping will be $3.00 via 1st class mail in a box and not padded envelope. This bait was introduced in 1925 in 2 sizes. 4 1/4 inches and 3 1/4 inches. In 1932 a smaller 2 3/4 inch size was added. Condition as pictured. This is a Heddon Dowagiac Crab Wriggler in the Strawberry coloration. It is a very old lure. Owned by my great Uncle. It is in pretty good shape with some fish bite scuffs on it, but probably very common in a lure this old. It does not have the one set of hooks but it does have the hardware on the lure to put a new hook on. Looks like you just turn a tiny screw add the hook and tighten it back up. The body measures 3 3/4 inches and the overall length with hardware measures 4 3/4 inches. It is painted in the Frog pattern and has Glass Eyes. It is in great condition. It has some ageline cracks and few hook pointers as indicated in the pictures. The glass eyes are in perfect condition.
