As you can see in the photos it's had very limited use. The items look and work like new. The only blemish appears to be paint wear on the edge surrounding the gear access door The booklet pages are free from discoloration. Bends or tears The box is solid. No cracks, chips and has the 308 sticker(no serial number to match with reel) It was my father's reel so I know the box and reel are a match just can't prove it. Both of these spinning reels work fine. But both are used and show some wear. The 300 was made in France and the number on the foot is 9426038. It operates smoothly and just needs cleaned. The Mitchell 308 was made in Taiwan and works fine, but also needs cleaned/oiled. Both reels are being offered"as is" and no returns. A more knowledgeable fishing friend thinks this reel has probably never been used-no scratches anywhere and line pick up shows no wear. Not sure of the age and serial number 372590 is on both the plastic case as well as the back of the mounting handle(photos 5& 7) Extra spool still has the paper Royal Bonnyl tag but there is a crack and hole in the spool case(photo 11) Still has 3 pieces original paperwork including the registration card-never filled out. Until now when it is once again here for sale. You will notice that this sweet reel shows some paint loss. Reels line in great& has a fairly quiet clicker with a strong drag& bale spring& to me this reel performs as it was intended. Mitchell 308 PRINCE Excellent Condition Pre-Garcia 1st Series FRONCE
Pretty Rare Prince was the distributor of Mitchell reels in England. Scotland and Ireland in the very beginning. I believe that it was in 1956 that the Prince"decal" was first put on the 308"s and Garcia was in engraved on the reel body after 1960. This also a FRONCE reel, France was put on the foot in late 1959. So this reel is in Exceptional condition for it's age. I haven't seen a lot of these and I'm told by those who know more than I do these are Rare. This reel functions flawlessly; Handle spring, Bail, Smoothness all perfect. Mitchell garcia 308 in plastic box with two spare spools and spool cases
Mitchell Garcia 308 in special plastic box with extra spool and spool container plus instruction booklet. Also comes with two extra spools and spool containers. Two of the spool containers are marked Mitchell on the top the third is a plain Jane. The only marks on the reel appear to be from where the reel rubbed up against the yellow plastic insert. The rest of the reel looks flawless excellent ++/Mint- condition. Please check photos. Crank handle has marks on it but no pitting. Everything works great, reel is very solid and tight. I do not think this reel saw much action at all. The reel box is in great shape with no chips or cracks. Has normal scratches. Opens and closes with a distinctive click. On one side of reel bos is a sticker that reads 308/ 690453, I am assuming that this second number was the serial number of the origional reel ... morethat came in it. The serial number on the 308 reel foot is 1191001. I do note that the serial number on the foot of the reel is seven digits.

Vintage Garcia Mitchell Spare Spools (6) for 308's and possibly other models!
You will only be getting the(6) spools and the spool containers shown in the first(7) pictures. The last picture with the xtra reels and reels are to show what I have in my other auctions. Not sure if these 6 spools will work for other models of Mitchell reels? Some of the spools are shallow and some are deep and comes with(2) deep spool sleeves so that you don't have to put as much line on. The spools are in very good condition with little usage if any on some of them! Some spools/containers may have sticker residue from pound test labels that have been on them for so may years but comes off fairly easy. A couple of the containers may have some outside wear from being in contact with soft baits but is minor.
