South Bend wood Surf - Oreno lure #963 F plus Fred Arbogast and Creek Chub
The main piece being bid on in this auction is the SouthBend lure. The wood body is in good condition with one scratch shown in the pictures. The glass eyes are intact. The hooks and spinners are rusted. The box is used but in good condition. The top and bottom are not crumpled or broken. The top has some dings but in pretty good shape for a used item. I am including a Fred Arbogast and Creek Chub lure as a bonus. These lures are both in good condition but do not have a box. Please check back in the next few days since I will be listing more items. I have used Luckey's book and am still confused. I believe it is an old bass-oreno. It has nice glass eyes. Intact old trebles, some cracking, and a few small paint chips(especially around the head) The paint pattern is not listed that I have found. If anyone out there knows more or different info. Please email me. I do not wish to mislead anybody.

VINTAGE SOUTH BEND ORENO TEASER SALTWATER LURE WOOD WITH GLASS EYES. 8 1/4" LONG Up for auction is a vintage South Bend Oreno Teaser saltwater lure with no hooks. These were used to attract large saltwater gamefish such as Sailfish and Marlin. This lure measures 8 1/4" Has a diameter of just over 1" And weighs just under 3 oz. This lure is in fair to good condition depending on how you look at it. As the pics show there are some paint nicks on the left facing side, the tail, and a little bit on the underside. The eyes appear to be cracked.This is still a very neat collectible South Bend item and would show very nicely from the right facing side. There were many of these made by South Bend that were marked Zane Grey, if you find one of those with the box they are worth a small fortune.
