The Wolseley Lodge at the French River is just 3.5 hours north of Toronto we offer 16 clean and comfortable cabins ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms. Originally built in 1928, we have made every effort to maintain the rustic charm of each cabin, some of them are nicely shaped log cabins, while adding the services which will make your holiday comfortable and safe.We are a pet friendly resort and we welcome responsible pet owners. Cabins 6 and 8 are not available to guests with pets. The French River is more like a chain of lakes connected by rapids. In these lakes you find many islands, bays and channels. You will find fishing heaven at the Wolseley Bay and French River, more than 95% of the shore line are untouched and protected. You can fish for Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass and for sure you will find Perch, Sunfish and Rock Bass. If you are looking for Sturgeon, Channel Cats or Whitefish you will find them in the French River. Always be prepared for a big one, Muskie over 50'' and Walleye over 30'' get caught every year. Make sure your camera is in the boat. There are also many nature adventures waiting for you at the Wolseley Bay and French river: hiking, swimming and tubing, historic sites etc.. or just cruising with our Pontoon and enjoy the beauty of nature. Also there are many scenic views for the photographers, artists, bird-watchers and hikers. THE MEETING PLACEThe Lodge houses the dining room and tuck shop.
The elevated deck looks out on to Wolseley Bay and is perfect for relaxing or socialising.
Wolseley Lodge branded clothing, fishing licences and charcoal may also be purchased on premises.
The information area provides brochures and details about local attractions and artisans as well as fishing guides.
THE GAMES ROOMThe downstairs games room is a friendly comfortable place to relax and play a game of pool with your family and friends. Upstairs there's a comfy sofa to the left of the dining room where you can enjoy movies, TV or board games by the fireplace. You are welcome to join us, watching Sport and News events on Bell TV. We also have a selection of books and DVDs for your enjoyment.
MOTEL STYLE ROOM RENTALThe Lodge ground floor has three bedrooms with a shared private bathroom. Wolseley Lodge's motel style rooms are available for rental on a daily basis and are convenient for last minute getaways and when friends drop by to visit you whilst you are at Wolseley Lodge.
It goes with out saying that the accommodations are ideal for fall colour sightseers, anglers, photographers, artists and anyone who appreciates the great outdoors. THE BEACHThe Playground is conveniently located between Lodge and the sandy beach.
Here our younger guests can enjoy the Play Set with slide, build sand castles, operate pedal boats and swim.

Live bait, worms or minnows (no minnows during the hot summer weeks) for the great fishing at the French River.
Use of the fish cleaning hut and fish freezing facilities at Wolseley Lodge also included.
Our Rates are based on a minimum of 2 guest per booking with a minimum stay of 2 nights, or 3 nights on long weekends. In July and August we rent on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday only.

The Wolseley Lodge, is located at the mouth of the Wolseley River one of the major spawning grounds for the Walleye, Northern Pike and Muskie at our part of the French River. As Ontario fishing lodges go is one of the oldest, having been established in 1928.
The French River has a well deserved reputation for first class fishing since many decades. The French River is a series of island dotted lakes connected by rapids. More than 95% of the shore line is untouched and protected by the French River Provincial Parkland, Dokies Indian Reserve and Crown Land. Two rapids are coming down into, and 3 rapids are leaving our area which is a 25 km long part of the French River and the 5 km long Wolseley Bay.
The Wolseley Lodge takes care of the serious fishing people. We offer nice clean cabins, a dining room (meals must be booked in advance) and the most modern fleet of fishing boats (2004 Models) at the French River, all with electric start motors and live wells. We also provide you with updated shore line maps with all the hot spots you need to know.

One or two, sixteen foot Legend Boat with a 25hp motor and anchor, depending on the number of people in your group plus an emergency kit, oars and one lifejacket per person. Follow the hot spots map or hire our local fishing guide show you some of his secret fishing holes in and around Wolseley Bay on the French River.

Free firewood is provided for use, after 8 pm, in the fire pits.

We have for rent twelve 16 foot Legend boats from 2004 with 25 hp electric start Mercury motor and live wells. This Boat can Accommodate a maximum of 5 Persons.
16 Feet PONTOON
This is a well equipped Fishing Pontoon for small groups equipped with a 25HP Yamaha 4 stroke Motor with Power Trim, Live Well, Depth Finder plus 3 Swivel Seats and a bench at the back. Enjoy the French River on small Cruising Platform with easy access for people who like it smaller but still stable. This Boat can Accommodate a maximum of 5 Persons.
You just walk from the dock on the Pontoon, no steps, no climbing into a rolling boat. The front opening is 31'' wide for easy access with a wheel chair. The Swivel Seats and Trolling Motor are removable for your needs.
16' x 6' Pontoon Boat built with 23'' diameter pontoons, (as found on bigger pontoon boats) for extra safety and great manoeuvrability. The perfect boat for small groups. This pontoon is only 4" wider than our 16' Legends but offers so much more space and comfort.
