19" Large Mouth Bass Taxidermy Stuffed Fish Real Skin Mount Illinois
It was my 30th Birthday May 14th 1996 and we'd had a great day on the water. In fact one of the best days we'd ever had. The sun was setting and we were all taking the gear off the boat and loading the cars. There was going to be at least an hour of filleting in front of us before an unprecedented feast. If you're a fisherman you know the"one last cast" routine. Walking back to the cars along the docks I flicked out my worn but trusty Rapala and let out the line so that when I walked it back to shore I could reel it all the way back in. Reaching shore I turned and started to reel pulling in all the loose line I'd let out when I noticed that the line I was reeling in was going out faster than I was reeling and BANG! I set the hook and the battle started. I quickly walked back up the docks to improve my position. My ... morebrothers. Uncles and cousins all noticed at the same time and I could see them out of the corner of my eye half interested and half jealous. The fish ran and pulled out line like a Pike and my reel screamed and rod bent. Get me a net" I yelled over my shoulder and they all scrambled. I only had 4lb line on this 6'6" medium action Abu Garcia so I had to let him run and follow him by running along the docks. After about 10 min everybody became convinced that I must have hooked a turtle because I was gaining line so slowly but I was bringing in line now, slow, but steady. Fatigue got the better of him then, I thought, and we were only in about 22' 25' of water here at the end of the docks. He was coming up but he was swimming up under the dock. I pushed my rod tip out to turn his head and get him away from the dock and when he broke the surface from the very edge of the dock he must have left the water by 2 feet. Splashing back into the lake he swam away from the net my Uncle Jesse had thrust into the water and started taking line again. Now that we'd all seen him we all became collectively paranoid that he was going to throw the hook or snap the line. I

Nice vintage large-mouth bass caught in Alabama fresh water. I received this from a good friend who's step-dad fished tournaments. This received a little damage to the rear fin and right side and right bottom front fins were chewed by an animal unfortunately. So it visually was un-pleasing, I trimmed and removed. I cleaned it up and there it hangs, lightly touched up with crayola marker after the move and selling my other center piece. I lightly moistened a rag with water, wiped it down and dried for inspection and listing. Just another great man cave piece that tells a story at first glance! I need Christmas funds, seeing these sell for $100-$300 on eBay, I just got to list it. Up for bid is a Taxidermy Largemouth Bass. This fish was caught in a Lake in Sumter. SC. This is a whopper of a fish measuring over 22 inches long and about a 17 inch girth. This bass was caught in 1993 as shown in photo 4. Which also has the person's name that caught it. This plaque can be removed by removing 2 tiny screws. This is an estate sale find and is being sold AS IS. I AM NOT a Taxidermist and know nothing about taxidermy. Please look at photo 9, it shows the back of the fish that is not shown from the front, does not have the eye and is painted black. This is a nice looking vintage largemouth bass taxidermy mount. It measures about 20" in length. And the real skin was used in the mount. There is a small crack on the top of the head area(pictured) which appears to have been repaired at some point and is barely noticeable. There is also a mark on the side of the gill area(pictured) I'm not sure if that was on the live fish or not, it's minor but still worth mentioning. The bass is between 19" and 20" Tough to get an accurate measurement with the curvature of the mount. Comes with the driftwood and wall hanger. When this bass was caught it was a really yellow color as it is in the mount. It is not discoloration from age. It would be great for a cabin or man cave. Huge 11lb 22' Largemouth Bass Mount. 25-30 years in age. Looks good on the wall. But needs some repair. The top fin is broken up a little bit, most fins have small broken pieces or the skin has come off. The back of the fish needs quite a bit of repair, there are some cracking spots on the face and the skin is coming loose near the tail, see photos for extent of damage. Could be hung as is or restored.

It is in good shape. And it is mounted on a piece of driftwood. Signed and dated 1983 on back of fish. Measures around 23" and mounted on a beautiful aged piece of drift wood.
