Anderson's Lodge

Description
Whether you are someone that has fished with us in the past, or you got our name from a magazine or the internet, picked up a Brochure or heard about us through a neighbor or co-worker, the burning question in your mind will be why should I fish with Anderson’s Lodge in 2012 – for a return visit or for the first time?

Our previous guests know the numerous reasons, and that’s why they return year after year without even considering staying anywhere else! For those of you who have never been on a Canadian Fishing trip, how are you to know where to stay? What is the best way to decide? Lots of people sit at home with a pile of Brochures from different fishing resorts or spend hours on-line and wrestle with that exact question. Naturally, everyone wants to make the right choice and have the best fishing vacation their money can buy.

Over the past couple of years, volatility in the world money markets have affected the way we live our daily lives and ultimately may have changed how “some” shop for Ontario fishing vacations. A few may be driven to shop based on price, looking for the cheapest possible way to go. But is cheapest the way to go? We really don’t think so – cheapest is usually never the best bargain. In fact it may be no bargain at all. Don’t waste your money! For over thirty years we have built our reputation based on offering quality fishing vacations at prices known to be the best value for money in the business. Are they the cheapest? No and probably never will be. We care too much to compromise the quality fishing vacation packages we provide for you.

Sioux Lookout has some of the best fresh water fishing in the world. Recognized as the “Walleye Capital of the World”, fishermen from around the globe hold the area lakes in highest ... moreregard as the most productive in size and number compared to any area in North America. With five species – Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Muskie and Lake Trout, the area provides anglers with choices not often found in other places. Walleye and Smallmouth are species most often fished by anglers. But there are opportunities with the other three species that you should not overlook. It’s rare that there is ever a new opportunity and this new place is one!

If you are looking for something new and different, then this is something you just gotta try. If you are a keen Northern Pike fisherman or a Lake Trout fanatic, you need to do this at least once in your life! Even if your not you should try it! You may have never seen and may never see action like this again.

On a short flight from Sioux Lookout, there are a couple of lakes different from anything else in the area. A small creek runs through a peninsula separating Tully and Store lakes. This was a perfect natural place for us to locate this new outpost. With boats on both lakes, your biggest problem in the morning is deciding which lake to fish! Store Lake, is where without a doubt you will catch more Northern Pike in one day than you can in a week anywhere else. Northern Pike pretty much “at will!” Or, should you go to Tully and catch Lakers at a rate unheard of anywhere else? On lots of lakes 4 to 6 Lakers a day is considered good. Without working hard, it’s easy to catch 20 to 30 in a day.

There is no one else there – just you, the eagles (they nest there yearly), some moose, the odd bear and the haunting call of the loons. This outpost is an exciting, remote place where the fishing is “truly nuts” and it’s going to stay that way forever with all angling on artificial, barb-less lures only. This outpost allows for Conservation Limits for Northern Pike (2) and Lake Trout (1). We open the camp on June 1st each year, to give the Northern Pike a chance to spawn and close it by September 15th so the Lake Trout can spawn.

Of course fishing is the biggest part of the experience, but it’s enhanced to the fullest by the new facility we built there. Look at the pictures – state of the art for outposts. Hot and cold running water to your indoor shower, trouble free solar lights throughout the cabin, a screened porch, and fish-cleaning house. New propane refrigerator, freezer, water heater, deep freeze and BBQ. Finally the best in beds – new box spring and mattresses by Simmons for a perfect nights sleep

What can you expect at our outpost camps on Lac Seul? Well, first of all we suggest that this type of package is designed for people who like to be “on their own” and appreciate the ... moreremoteness of a cabin in the vast Canadian north. It’s a fishing vacation on your own schedule, doing your own thing – fish, eat and sleep as long as you want, whenever you want!

Complementing the rest of our operation, Anderson’s Lodge outposts are spacious cabins finished in pine and cedar, with screened in porches, double beds as well as bunks furnished with box springs and mattresses by Simmons – no army camp cots or sagging, aged mattresses. These cabins are equipped with propane refrigerators, propane stoves with ovens, all cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates, cutlery etc. We also have gas grills for those favorite B.B.Q. dishes. Solar panels are the energy source for cold running water to the cabins – no hauling water, lights in the cabins that turn on with a tug of a string along with hot showers. Wood stoves and plenty of chopped firewood are ready for any “cool” temperatures that you may encounter. Screened fish cleaning houses are complimented with propane deep freezers to keep your catch. Now that’s first class when it comes to staying at an outpost camp. Does anything else on Lac Seul come close? – Not a chance!

Pressure treated, 8′ wide “floating” docks allow for ease and convenience of getting into and out of our 16′ Lund boats, regardless of water levels. Our deep, wide 16′ Lunds are equipped with new 20 h.p. 4 stroke Mercury engines (no 9.9 h.p. compromises here). New engines mean they work and there is never any lost fishing time. We supply swivel boat seats, seat cushions, paddles and landing nets. As well, minnow buckets – both for in the boat – including minnow storage at the dock. We also include all gasoline in this package so there are no “surprise” gas charges at the end of your stay.

Your outpost package includes your transportation to and from the outpost via float plane from our main lodge, new 16′ Lunds with new 20 h.p. engines (2 people per boat), all gasoline, cabin accommodations and unlimited amounts of ice. You need only to bring your personal gear, fishing rod, tackle and groceries. Fishing licenses and bait can be ordered through the lodge prior to flying in. For those wanting to have groceries packed and ready for them, you need only to mail or fax your list and we will provide this service at no additional cost.

Our most popular package – a 21' Bowrider with a walk through windshield and full canopy top to keep you out of the wind and protected from harsh sun on hot days or dry on rainy days. ... morePlush swivel seats with full padded backs make this like fishing from your living room chair. Eight bases means you can fish in comfort from “any” place in this boat. Two locations from the raised bow and six other places in the main part of the Cruiser make this boat perfectly comfortable for groups of 2 to 6 including your guide. Spacious and roomy – it almost sounds like we are talking about a house! But we’re not!

This industry is competitive and demanding of quality equipment – this, coupled with our “drive” of always wanting the best for our customers, we designed a 21′ Bowrider specifically with “our guests needs” in mind. Working on this project for a couple of years with feedback from our customers, guiding staff, our marina, the manufacturer and our management team; we produced a one of a kind “fishing machine” and a model that will set the standards for this industry.
